TRAFFIC ANALYSIS
18 M WIDE ROAD

60 M
WIDE
ROAD
N
● The traffic coming on the internal road is around 2275 PCU per hour in peak hour.

● The internal roads are 12 m (3 lanes wide one way), with a capacity of 3600 PCU per hour.

● Having 4 gates shall divide the traffic into 4 parts with average of 569 PCU coming in per
gate.

● The number of vehicles coming into the site is calculated to be 3675 per hour in peak hours
(including car,bikes & scooters)

● Entry exit gates are designed to be used in 3+1 flexible arrangement

● The gates are to have 3 incoming lanes during the morning peak and vice versa during
evening peak, allows to fulfill the peak hour traffic demand without increasing number of
gates

VEHICULAR ENTRY TO PARKING VEHICULAR ENTRY TO LOBBY AND PARKING

TRAFFIC ANALYSIS

CAPACITY OF INTERNAL DRIVEWAY

● The capacity of a 3 lane one-way driveway is 3600PCU/Hr.

● The volume of traffic coming on the driveway is calculated to be 2275 PCU/Hr.
● The Volume to capacity ratio is 2275 / 3600 = 0.63
● A V/C ratio of 0.63 means a level of service C which is Satisfactory for a peak period
TRAFFIC ANALYSIS

FLOW OF PEDESTRIANS INTO THE SITE FROM THE DROP OF AREA

● Pedestrian entering into the site in peak hour i calculated to be around 4200, i.e,70 per minute
● The entire north side of the building is to be pedestrianised to improve walkability in the
premises
● Segregating the vehicular and pedestrian traffic improves pedestrian safety
● A 12M wide pedestrian area is provided on the north side which will be used by pedestrians to
reach their wings
● As per Indo-HCM, the LoS of such footpath comes out to be A which is very good and will pose
no inconvenience to the pedestrians.

PEDESTRAIN AREA
TRAFFIC ANALYSIS
FLOW OF PEDETAIN IN THE ELEVATORS - VERTICAL TRANSPORTATION

● No of elevators :16
● Passenger capacity : 20
● Speed of Elevators : 2.5M/s
● Passengers can access elevators only from
main lobby
● All Elevators can access all Entrance Floors
● All Elevators can Access all Destination Floors
● Destination Control system is Employed to
allot Elevators
● Peak duration - 2 hours, say 8 am - 10 am
● Peak hour - 1 hour, say, 9am - 10 am
● Peak of peak (simulation period) 15 minutes,
say 9.45m - 10 am
TRAFFIC ANALYSIS
FLOW OF PEDETAIN IN THE ELEVATORS - VERTICAL TRANSPORTATION

● The escalator is 10 m along the incline.

● A step will take 15 seconds to travel that
distance and, including 5 flat steps at the top
and 4 at the bottom, there will be around 30
steps available for people to occupy at any
one time.
● 25 people would take 15 seconds to rise a
height of 4.3 m in the vertical plane. • So, in 1
min, the escalator would be able to cater to
100 people in 1 min which means that the
capacity is 6000 people per hour, while the
volume is 2333 only.
● Therefore, the number of Escalators are
adequate for the movement of pedestrians.
IGBC CERTIFICATION
SHADOW ANALYSIS

● We are applying for Platinum rating

for this project.
