Detailed Lesson Plan Mathematics 3 March, 18,2023 I. Objectives

The document provides a detailed lesson plan for a mathematics class on interpreting line graphs, including objectives, procedures for the lesson, activities to practice skills, and an evaluation. The lesson introduces line graphs, has students analyze examples to identify elements like subjects on the x-axis and numbers on the y-axis, and practices creating line graphs from data tables. Evaluation includes having students correctly plot line graphs from additional data sets.

Detailed Lesson Plan

MATHEMATICS 3
March,18,2023

I. Objectives:
A. Content Standards: Demonstrates Understanding of line graph and
outcomes of an event using the terms sure, likely, equally likely, unlikely
and impossible to happen.

B. Performance Standards: Able to create and interpret simple

representations of data (table and single line graphs) and describe outcomes
of familiar event using the term sure, likely, equally, likely, unlikely and
impossible to happen.

C. Learning Competency: Infers and interprets data presented in

different kinds of line graphs (vertical/horizontal).

D. Content:
Topic: Interpreting Line graphs

A. Learning Resource: Mathematics 2 page 322-329

B. Other Learning Resource: Visual Aids, PowerPoint Presentation
C. Values Integration: Create camaraderie and harmony within group

II. Procedure:
Before the Lesson (Preliminary Activities)

A. Review of Previous Lesson or Presenting

of the New Lesson Pupils Activity

Class, before we start the lesson

Class, can you still remember our lesson yesterday.

Yes teacher!
Our lesson yesterday was all about pie
graph.

Very good

What is pie graph again class?

Pie graph is use to show the relation of
the parts to the whole and to each other.

Very good

Now will proceed to the next topic which is

A line graph

Do you know to make Line graph now?

Pupils have different answers

Presenting a video

Okay class, what is line graphs again?

A line graph is used to show information

that changes over time.
And is plotted with dots /points that
connected by lines

Very good.

Now I have an example of data chart here and all

you have to do is plot it correctly. I am clear class?

(Pupils have different Answers)

How long does it take you to reach the school if
you walk.

(Pupils have different answers)

If you take a bicycle? A bus or a jeepney?

(Pupils have different answers)

During the Lesson (Developing Activities)

D. Discussing New Concepts and Practicing

Class, I have here a line graph. What did you notice

about this graph? What does this line graph show?

Very Good!

It was the number of students on which

E. Discussing New Concepts and Practicing ways they are coming to school.
New Skills # 2

Now what information is in the horizontal axis?

Teacher it was an information in which
the students choose/use on ways they are
coming to school.

All right very good! What about in vertical axis?

Teacher based on the graph it was a Bus

is the most used in coming to school.

And now, base on line graph which way/ means of

coming to school is used the most.
Teacher based on the graph it was a
Very good! tricycle. Tricycle is the least used in
coming to school.

Which way/means of coming to school is least

used.

(Pupil’s have different answers)

Why is that most of the students choose to walk?

F. Developing Mastery

Now I have here another example of a line

Which subject less favorite

of the grade 3 pupils?
There are 10 pupils chooses the math to
be their favorite subject.

Why many students did choose Math to be their

favorite Subject?

MAPEH is their most favorite subject

All right, very good!

What is the most favorite subject of the pupils?

Yes, teacher
Very good.

Class do you understand our lesson? .

All right Very good class.

After the Lesson

G. Finding Practical Application of

Concepts and Skills in Daily Living

I’ll group you into 5 all you have to do is plot it

correctly

Yes teacher!

Teacher we should identify the title of the

line graph and analyze the information
given in the horizontal and vertical axis.
H. Making Generalizations and Abstraction
about the Lesson

Again class, did you understand our lesson?

How do we read and interpret line graph?

Very Good!

Learning Evaluation
A. Direction: Plot it correctly.
