    A. Reviewing previous lesson or Activity # 1
    presenting the new lesson Group Activity (5min.)

    Use Venn diagram to represent the


    problem below.

    A group of 25 high school students were


    asked whether they play basketball or
    volleyball or both. Fifteen of these
    students play basketball, twelve play
    volleyball and two say they do not do
    neither sports.

    B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson (5min.)

    Based on the problem in Activity # 1 and


    on your Venn diagram, answer the
    following questions. (5 min.)

    only?
    b. How many students play volleyball
    only?
    c. How many students play both sports?
    d. How does your Venn diagram help
    you to answer these questions?

    (Explain: Venn diagrams can be used to

    Ask each group to create a problem


    involving two sets and formulate five
    questions about the problem. Post the
    group output.

    Based on activity # 2, each group
    should answer the problem of the other
    groups. After five minutes ask them to
    post their answer on the board below
