Teaching Dates and Time: Quarter: 3rd Quarter
LESSON PLAN 8:00-9:20 AM Week: 2

Grade V Grade VI
I. OBJECTIVES Visualizes and describes solid figures Visualizes and describes the different spatial figures; cube, prism, pyramid,
M5GE-IIIe-25 cylinder, cone and sphere
MGE- IIIc -31
II.CONTENT/SUBJECT MATTER Solid Figures /Spatial Figures
III. LEARNING MATERIALS Real objects, art paper, scissors, chart, flash cards, ppt

IV.PROCEDURE A. Preliminary Activities

T- Direct Teaching a. Drill
I- Individual Activity Using Flash Cards
G- Group Work Mental Computation of area and parameter
A- Assessment b. Review
Name the following polygons

c. Motivation
Play “Concentration Game”
1.Teacher prepares 12 cards consecutively numbered
2. Teacher divides the class into 2 groups
3. Let the pupils pick 2 numbers, If they match … it is 1 point then another student from the same group chooses another pair of numbers and so on
4. If the contents of the numbers don’t match the teacher flips the card again to show the number. Then player from the other group has the chance
to choose the next pair of numbers
5. The group with most number of correctly matched pairs wins.

B. Developmental Activities *Direct Teaching

1. Presentation:

Showing videos introducing Solid/Spatial Figures

Ask:
*What are the different Spatial figures?
*What do you think is the most common spatial figure?

2. Performing the Activity *Group Activity *Group Activity

Let them jot down the different things they see in the surroundings *Construct a toy Robot using spatial figure.
and tabulate using the table. Collect things around you that you think would resemble to construct a
robot
Object Solid/Spatial Figure
basketball sphere

3. Presentation of outputs
4. Processing of the Activity *Direct Teaching
Ask:
How did you find the activity?
How did you visualize a solid figure? What about a spatial figure?
Were you able to differentiate a solid figure and a spatial figure?
5. Reinforcing the Concept/ Skill
What is a solid figure? What is a spatial figure?
Spatial figure is a 3-dimensional figure. It is made of plane figure whose all sides are joined to form a close figure. It includes cube, cylinders, cones,
prisms, pyramids, spheres.

6. Application *Individual Activity

Give two objects that are models of the following spatial/ solid figures below.
1.cone
2. cylinder
3. cube
4. rectangular prism
5. sphere
7. Summarizing the lesson
Ask:
What the different spatial figures?
What are their common characteristics?
Give examples of real-life objects that represent each spatial figure?

IV.EVALUATION Paper and Pencil: *Assessment

Name the spatial/ solid figures that resemble the following objects below
1. box
2. ball
3. dice
4. ball
5. globe
6. tin can
7. camping tent
8. water pipe
9. glass
10. coke bottle
V. ASSIGNMENT Draw objects that resemble to the following Solid/ Spatial Figures.
1. cube
2. Cylinder
3. Pyramid
4. Cone
5. Rectangular Prism
