A. Drill Read the words on the screen and give the plural form of the nouns.
(Using the slating board or the show – me – board.)

C. Establishing a purpose for the Say:
lesson There is another way of forming the plural of nouns and we will learn it this
afternoon. Do you know that not all nouns form the plural by only adding s and es.
So today, we will learn another way of forming the plural of nouns. In the activities,
which one will do? When you want to speak, are you going to shout? What kind of
voice will you use? Why?

My Baby Brother

Louis is my baby brother. He likes to play with his toys.


His best toy is a walking robot. Everyday, Louis together with
our babies in the village play at the plaza. They play these for

3. What is his best toy?
4. Where does he play everyday?
5. With whom does he play with?
6. How did Louis feel after playing?
7. Why was he happy?

Ask: What singular nouns are found in the paragraph? (baby, toy)
With what letter do they end? (ends with y)
What are the plural nouns in the paragraph? (babies, toys)
How do they form their plural? ( by adding s and es)
(Answers are written on the board and appreciate the answers of the pupils)

E. Discussing new concepts and Look at the following pictures. Study the nouns below each picture.

Say: Let us study these pair of words.

Ask: What letter comes before the y in the words in the box A? (vowel letters)
What do we add to nouns ending in –y with a vowel before it?
Say: When nouns ending in y with a vowel before it form their plural by adding –s
only.
What letters come before y in the words in box B? (consonant letters)
How do we form the plural of nouns ending in y with a consonant before it?
Say: When nouns ending in y with a consonant before it form their plural by
changing -y to i and adding -es.

Look for the nouns ending in y in the puzzle and use it in a sentence. Select only 5
nouns given beside the puzzle.

(Rubrics in Group Activities will be used and praising the pupils in doing their task.)

Lesson Choose a partner. Your partner will give the singular and the plural form of the
