Cybersecurity is the practice of protecting systems, networks, and programs from digital
attacks. These cyberattacks are usually aimed at accessing, changing, or destroying sensitive
information; extorting money from users; or interrupting normal business processes.
TOPIC:
- Cyber Threats
- Computer Security
OBJECTIVES:
In this webinar is all about cybersecurity. First is Cyber Threats, for example is while
doing your assignments or lecture there are threats around you. So the first one is phishing, it is
a method trying to gather personal information using deceptive emails. In here they will send
you a link or website that asking you to insert or input your password. Another example is if your
waiting something from the bank, actually you tough that this email came from the bank and you
input your information without knowing that you are being attack. So what will you do if you
encounter this, the first one you do is to check the authenticity of the website. For example is
your creating an account on facebook.com, so the hacker will send you a link facebok.com you
tough that this email is came from face so you input all your info. So before clicking the link that
you receive is you need to check it first to avoid hacking your account. Next is Malware, this is
the earliest security issue in technology. First one is the viruses, this viruses attach on
document and we are downloading this data on the net and we don’t know that this is infected
by the virus. So for me to avoid this is you need to have an antivirus app on your device so it
you can know if this site is having a virus. And also if you have an antivirus they will block if you
download some document or apps that having a virus.
Next topic is about Computer Security, so what is Computer Security. It is the protection
of computer system from theft or damage to their hardware, software or electronic data, as well
as from disruption or misdirection of the services they provide. So the goal of computer security
is to make sure our data is secured by confidentiality so no one can seen the data.
So lastly is preventing Cyber Attack, there are many ways to know that your being attack
sometimes having a slow processor or pc that is an indication that you are being attack. First is
go to cmd, then envoke the netstat. So we will see the local address and foreign address. The
foreign address is the connection or the connecting second party going to your pc. However, if
you see that you have connection on some foreign address it means someone using unsecured
port. The best thing to do if you don’t know what port is this you can check It by searching in
google example what is the use of 4444 port. So how to prevent cyber attack is check your
firewall defender if running, always update your antivirus, backup your data or cloud back up
and securing your OS.
