I. Objectives/MELCS:
At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to:
1. identify famous composers of the Renaissance, Baroque and Medieval periods;
2. distinguish musical composition of these composers from the others through musical
characteristics of each period;
3. apply musical composition in a modern song following the correct rhythm of the composition;
and
4. appreciate the contributions of the composers through listening and internalizing the mood of
the compositions from the different periods.

Topic: Composers of the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque Period
Reference/s: Learner’s Module and MAPEH 9 Book Phoenix Publishing House Inc.
Instructional Materials Used: Powerpoint Presentation, Video Presentation and Internet Sources
Values Infused: Appreciation of the Grassroots of Music
III. Procedure
A. Recall/Motivation
The teacher will be asking the students of the last discussion in Music.
B. Presentation
Let the students answer the questions, leading to the introduction of the topic.
The teacher will present the lesson with the slides and let the students listen.
C. Development
The teacher will continue the discussion in the lesson of the Music of the Medieval,
Renaissance and Baroque Period particularly its prominent composers.
There will be questions to be ask to students of the lesson and let them answer.
Present the different composers of each period and let them describe each
composition.
Let the students give their opinions on the compositions presented per period.
Let the students differentiate the 3 periods of musical development through the
composers and their contributions.
Random question will come out during the class discussion and to be ask to the
students.
The teacher will present sample composition to let the students hear and appreciate
the composition.
D. Application
In the discussion of the lesson, the teacher will ask the students to apply some modern
songs to any of the musical compositions created by composers.
E. Generalization
The teacher will be asking students of the composers of the Medieval, Renaissance and
Baroque period and their compositions.
IV. Evaluation
Long Quiz shall be announced.
V. Assignment
In the composition of Antonio Vivaldi, Four Seasons, students will be ask to plot a song of the modern
era to the different seasons. It can be the same as the concept of the season or they may plot other
song as long as it follows the correct rhythm and pitches of the composition. They will be group into 4
teams to coincide with the seasons.
