1. What do you mean by Self-management?


Answer- Self-management, also referred to as ‘self-control,’ is the ability to control one’s emotions, thoughts
andbehavior effectively in different situations.

Answer- Our emotional, mental, physical, and social responses to perceived demands or threats are referred to
asstress. Stressors are the pressures or threats that people face.

Step 2: Find out the reason for your stress. Is it because of exams, family pressure, money issues, not eating good
food, etc.
Step 3: Use time management tools to manage your time well. Focus on the important tasks and get them
done.Take some time to relax by exercising, watching movies etc.

22. What is the difference between good and bad stress.


Answer- Good Stress: Good stress, also called eustress, can propel you forward and help you achieve more
goals, ultimately leading to more happiness, success, or fulfillment. These are generally relatively short
bouts of stress (acute stress) and provide motivation to get something done.
A deadline, for example, can be a source of good stress if it helps you focus and perform well on a project,
provided you have time to relax and recover once it’s over.

Bad Stress: Bad Stress Hinders Progress and Could Cause Health Issues. This type of stress (chronic stress)
can slow you down and inhibit you from doing the things you need to do. It even affects your immune,
reproductive, excretory, and digestive systems or causes emotional distress too.

23. What are the symptoms of bad stress?


Answer- The symptoms of bad stress are:
1. Headache
2. Irritability
3. Mood swings
4. Sleep disorders
5. Weight gain or loss
6. Problems in focusing

24. What are the stress management techniques for students?


Answer- There are different types of stress management techniques which are:
a. Proper Time Management: Design and stick to an appropriate time table keeping in mind your
work-load, assignments, essential breaks required and some relaxation time too.
b. Physical exercise and fresh air: Physical exercise help boost up the production of our brain’s feel-good
neurotransmitter called endorphins. When we do physical exercises, we concentrate on body’s
movements and forget the daily tensions, resulting in more energy.
c. Yoga: Doing yoga, meditation and deep breathing exercises help in proper blood circulation and
relaxes the body. It reduces Cortisol (Stress Hormone). Even taking a walk or playing in the park will
help you get a lot of fresh oxygen, which will help you become more active.
d. Healthy diet: Having a healthy diet will also help you reduce stress. Eating a balanced diet, such as
Dal, Roti, vegetables and fruits will give you the strength to do your daily work efficiently.
e. Positive Thinking: Focusing on negative aspects of life will add more stress. Instead, learn to look at
the good things and stay positive. For example, instead of feeling upset over a scoring less in a test, try
to maintain a positive attitude and look at ways to improve the next time.
f. Sleep: We should get a good night’s sleep for at least 7 hours so that your brain and body get
recharged to function better the next day.
g. Holidays with family and friends: Going to a relative’s place, such as your grandparents’ house or
anew place during your summer vacations can help you break from the normal routine and come back
afresh.
