1. [17 points] N percent of the numbers from 1 to 2022 (inclusive) are multiples of 2, 3, and 5
but not all three. Find N rounded to the nearest whole number.
Proposed by Lila Paul ’25

2. [19 points] n is a positive real number that does not equal 1 such that the nth root of n5
equals n raised to the nth power. Find n6 .

5. [21 points] Find the sum of the coefficients of the expansion of (x + y + z)6 .

6. [23 points] M A is the diameter of circle G and M G is the diameter of circle E. M G has a
length of 2. Circle U is tangent to arc M G at K, segment M A at H, and arc M A at R. The
radius of circle U can be expressed as ab where a and b are relatively prime positive integers.
Find a + b.
7. [23 points] Given that log36 m = log42 n = log49 (3m + 4n), compute the sum of all possible
n
values of m if m and n are both positive real numbers.

8. [25 points] The diagram below is of a 5x5 grid with side length 25. Arc AN is 90◦ , and lies
on a circle with radius 5. Arc AE and N D are 90◦ , and lie on a circle with radius 15. Arc DE
is 90◦ , and lies on a circle with radius 25. If the area of the shaded region can be expressed
as aπ − b, compute the value of a + b.

9. [25 points] What is the sum of the last three digits of 3310 ?

10. [27 points] Dane is given an infinite set:

1 1 1 1 1 1
{1, , , , , , , ...}
2 3 4 5 6 7
He makes an arithmetic sequence comprised of 10 terms, and each term is a different element
from the set. If the sequence is increasing, and the least possible value of the 10th term in the
n
sequence can be expressed as m where m and n are both relatively prime positive integers,
find m + n.

11. [27 points] Each face of a cube has a positive integer written on it. On each vertex of the
cube, the product of the numbers on the 3 faces intersecting at the vertex is written. If the
sum of the numbers on the vertices equals 2023, what is the sum of the numbers on the faces?
Proposed by Michael Iofin ’26

12. [29 points] When polynomial O(x), which contains only odd degree terms, is divided by
1
2
x − 4, the remainder is 8. If the remainder when O(x) is divided by x2 − 64 is ax + b, what
is a + b?

13. [29 points] How many digits does the number 125100 have?
14. [31 points] Solve for x:
√ √
q
x+6+4 x+2=x x+2

15. [31 points] Shaye has a balanced coin with him. However, the coin is magic; each time you
flip the coin, the chance that you land on the same side again increases by 1−P 2
where P is the
probability of landing on that side the first time. For example, if you land heads off the first
flip, your probability of landing heads off the next flip is now 34 . If you flip again and land on
1− 1
tails, the probability of landing tails is now 14 + 2 4 = 58 . If you flip tails off the balanced coin,
then heads, the probability of flipping heads the next two times can be written as ab where a
and b are relatively prime whole numbers. What is 2a − b?
Proposed by Shaye Kirman ’24

16. [33 points] How many ways are there to score a final 36 on the ACT Test? Note that the
final score is determined by taking the average of 4 scores across 4 sections (English, math,
reading, and science) and rounding this average to the nearest whole number. Also note that
each section is scored out of 36. For example, if one scores an English - 33, math - 34, reading
- 35, science - 36, the final score will be 33+34+35+36
4
= 34.5 which rounds to a final score of
35. For avoidance of doubt, the same score breakdown but across different section counts as
another way to get the final score.

17. [33 points] Find the sum of all positive integers n less than 2023 such that n68 ≡ 6 (mod 23).

18. [35 points] Inside of square ABCD is a circle E, which is tangent to sides BC and CD. Arc
BD lies on the circle with center at point A. Let r be the radius of circle A and o the radius
of circle E. Segment M K is tangent to both circle A and circle E. Given that segment M K
has a length of 1709, find the value of r − o.
19. [35 points] Find the maximum value of

7 cos (θ) + 24 sin (θ) + 7,

where θ ∈ R.

20. [37 points] Let r and√s be the roots of the equation 5x2 − 20x + 10. If r3 + r2 s − rs2 − s3
can be expressed as a b, find a + b.

21. [37 points] Let f (x) = 3x2 + 3x − 1 be a quadratic polynomial with roots m and k. If the
value of 9m12 −3 + 9k21−3 can be represented as pq , where |p| and |q| are relatively prime integers,
compute the value of p + q.

22. [39 points] There are two unique integers, m and k, such that 49817 = 2023m + k with
0 ≤ k ≤ 2023. Find k.

23. [39 points] Consider polynomial M (x) with integer coefficients. If M (6) = 7, M (27) = 3
and M (8) = 4. What is M (71), given M (71) < 100?
Proposed by Madhav Thakur ’26

24. [41 points] A stick is broken into 4 pieces with the points at which it is broken chosen
uniformly and at random. What is the probability that it is possible to make a quadrilateral
out of the pieces of the stick?
Proposed by Michael Iofin ’26

25. [41 points] Ms. Ali assigns each of the 15 students in her math class a unique number
between 1 and 15. She is allowed to make a list of numbers and ask the students who have
one of the numbers on the list give a thumbs up. What is the smallest number of times that
Ms. Ali can do this to determine what number each student has?

26. [43 points] Let m equal:

s r

qp
1 + 2 1 + 3 1 + 4 1 + 5 1...
r

q p

Given that m can be expressed as √a , compute a + b.

27. [43 points] The geometric figure below can be constructed by a sequence of steps. In step
1, begin with a equilateral triangle with side length 12. In step 2, place a square with a side
length 13 of the length of the triangle against the middle of each edge of the triangle. In step
3, place an equilateral triangle with a side length 31 of the length of the square against the
middle of each edge of the square. For each odd positive integer n, in step n + 1, place squares
whose sides are a third as long as the sides of the equilateral triangles attached in step n,
placing them at the middle of the edges of triangles placed in step n. For each even positive
integer n, in step n + 1, place equilateral triangles whose sides are a third as long as the sides
of the squares attached in step n, placing them at the middle of the edges of squares placed in
step n. The diagram shows the figure after step 3. If this is continued for all positive integers
n, the
√ area covered by all the squares and equilateral triangles attached in all the steps is
a+b c
d
, where a, b, and d are relatively prime positive integers and the radical is simplified.
Find a + b + c + d.

28. [45 points] Triangle M EG is a right triangle with right angle at ∠M GE. ∠GM E is 60◦ , and
hypotenuse M E is 24. Let A be randomly√chosen√inside △M EG, and extend √ M A to meet
a−b c
EG at H. The probability that M H > 12 6 − 12 2 can be expressed as d where a, b, c
and d are relatively prime positive integers and the radical is simplified. Compute a+b+c+d.

tetrahedron with edge length 1, given that the orientation
√ of the tetrahedron is chosen inde-
a
pendently and at random, can be expressed as b , what is a + b?

8
X x+5
x=2
x3 + 2x2 − x − 2
