to check my previous intro guide!

Why bother?
With apps becoming ever more
simple, it’s increasingly harder to
stand out.
That’s why you need to seize every
chance you get to differentiate
yourself.
In just a couple of minutes, you can
do just that – get state-of-art icons
and assets.
1. Generate Assets / Icons

Like with many existing AI tools, it’s

hard to have a full control over the

output.

Especially when you need to create

coherent assets like icons.

An easy way to achieve this, is to

use the following prompt:

2. Pro Tip & Best Practices
You can actually tell Midjourney
exactly what icons you need in your
prompt:

List your icons

As you can see you can fine-tune the
results by being more specific in your
prompt.
Here are a few inputs you can use:
Background colo

Icons style (Isometric, 3D, outline,
flat, etc.
Art(ist) style (more on that in
another guide)
3. How to Practically Use

These Assets in Projects?

In the case of flat assets, what I’d like

to do, is to vectorize them. I can then

easily change their colors.

I use Adobe Illustrator.

Simply paste your image there and

use the Image Trace option

(see the step by step) --->

You can define how detailed and
accurate the image tracing

should be.
Once happy with the result, click on
Expand.
Once done, just copy the result and

paste it in Figma!

From here on, you can change colors

globally or use them as they are!

If you don’t have Adobe Illustrator,
you can use an online tool.

Vectorizer.com is a free option with

decent results.

Now what about other types of

icons? (see the 2 options) --->
Option 1
Use them as they are by just
cropping them (ideally background
needs to be the same as in your
designs)

Option 2
Remove the background.

You can use erase.bg

it’s free and fast!

Removing the bg is a piece of cake!
From here you can incorporate these

assets into your designs to explore

different look-and-feels.

It gives you more unique options

4. Generate app icons
With Midjourney, it’s also possible to
generate production-ready app icons.
To do that, we could use the following
prompts (but we don’t have to):

You then need to crop the image

properly and use it for your app!

That’s a wrap!
