Section-A:-Summarize various concepts used in the Article in points (As per your
understanding)

 The main aim of this article is to fix the root cause and think beyond symptoms to solve real business
problems like the challenge must be viewed as a strategic facilitator for continuous development and an
opportunity to improve the organization by a leader. In order to solve a serious business problem, we
must think beyond the symptom and identifying and resolving the problem's root cause.
 Getting to the root cause has superficial layer (little or no analysis required) and fundamental layer
(formal analysis required).
 Root cause intermediate causes  problem symptoms.
 In business, there are symptoms, and when things go wrong, it's critical to dig beyond the result and
uncover the source.
 Root Cause Analysis: 
A 'root cause analysis' (RCA) is used to identify long-term solutions to business problems.
Leaders that make the effort to find the true 'cause' will improve and propel the firm forward– farther,
faster, and with better results.
The 'root cause analysis' technique provides a structure for making sure nothing is missed, as well as a
foundation for better decision-making.
 Leader’s Problem-solving strategy-

1. Break down Silos requires the enabling of a boundary-less organization whose culture is focused on a
healthier whole.
2. Open-minded People are people working together to make the organization and people it serves better.
3. Solid Foundational Strategy is taking enough time to step back and assess the situation and the
opportunities that each problem represents.
4. Transparent Communication is needed to the root of the matter.

 Approach for root cause fix-


Corrective action:
Emphasize on determining the problems of the root cause. Once the root cause has been identified, the
next step is to determine how to fix it.

Adaptive action: 
Emphasize on the problem's negative consequences and take adaptive measures to mitigate them. Stop-
gap measures or workarounds are what they're called.

 Organizations must improve their ability to apply the rigor of a 'root cause' study to solve problems.
Section-B:-Define the relevance of Root Cause Analysis in Business Problem Solving

It’s the actual underlying cause not just the quick fix which only deals with the symptoms which is
common and widely used method for determining why an issue happened.
It aims to uncover the fundamental cause of an issue by following a sequence of processes and using
associated tools to identify the source of the problem.

Root cause analysis determines-


 What happened?
 The cause of the incident.
 What you can do to lessen the chances of it happening again.

1. Symptom: High attrition rate.


Root cause: Not hiring the right people. 

2. Symptom: Depression.
Root cause: The inability to address issues or meet demands causes stress, which is a significant
cause of depression.

3. Symptom: Child labor.


Root cause: Extreme poverty.

4. Symptom: Social Media Campaigns Fail.


Root cause: Targeting The Wrong Social Media Platform.
