AIMS:
- to introduce grammar structures: the Past Simple tense
- to introduce the regular and irregular verbs
-to help students improve their grammar using different types of exercises
- to improve pupils’ pronunciation and their ability of speaking and writing in English
freely
-to fix the gained information
ASSUMPTIONS: While working in groups students can be noisy, some can be more
passive.
Description of the class: There are 7 students in the class, sitting in rows. During the
previous lesson they have learned about IT activities with a focus on vocabulary. The Ss
have basic information about how the past simple tense is formed as they have studied it
in the 6th grade as well.
MATERIALS:
students’ book; worksheets, verb cards, blackboard
Aims: to raise Past Simple, the T gives worksheets to the Ss and Ss-T
Ss’ curiosity asks them to match the phrases with the pictures.
To tell the Then the T asks the students which was their
objectives of the favourite activity (from the worksheet) and which
lesson
was their least favourite in the past.
The T announces the objectives of the lesson.
Students’ activities: the Ss match the phrases with
the pictures and answer to the questions.
Teacher’s activities:
2. For futher practice the T divides the class in
two groups then she divides the board into two. She

and the two groups have to complete work

Students’ activities: the Ss come to the blackboard
and write the sentences using the past tense.
Feed back 2' The T invites students to make a quick review of T-Ss
the lesson and evaluates their work. She appreciates
Ss-T
students’ behaviour during the class and names
some students who gave correct answers.
1’ Teacher’s activity: As homework the T asks Ss to T-Ss
do the exercises from the worksheets
