    INTRODUCTION

    Technological advancement has made life simpler and easier to live. It allows people to accomplish
    the task easily and conveniently with just a few clicks on their gadgets. The system is designed to
    automate the process of generating and delivering bills to the consumers.

    BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

    The capstone project entitled “Water Billing Information System” is a computerized system for
    issuing water bills to customers. This system can handle billing by either sending it directly to the
    customer via mobile app or web, or by handing it over to the consumer. To help with the expansion,
    the proponents proposed a web-based water billing system with a mobile app and a website. The
    system will be capable of generating invoices, accepting payments, computing fines, generating billing
    reports, and issuing formal receipts.

    This system, the user will be charged based on the amount of water used. Additionally, there is
    automation in turning on and off the water pump reduces water waste. It contains an easy
    computation of water consumption and generates reports. The system can notify the residents
    about the announcement, disconnections and service interruption through Inbox notification feature.
    The residents’ data can automatically save to the database and no bills will be lost since it is protected
    and can only be accessed by the authorities.

    Water is one of the humanity’s basic necessities. At the present, some communities have their own
    water district that supply water in different households. Along with availing water supply from water
    district is paying for water bills every month. Due to increased number of water consumers, water
    districts find it hard to manage a pile of water bills. The manual way of managing water bills is prone
    to human errors. In the conventional way, they deliver water bills personally which sometimes are
    delivered to wrong home owner and this cause delays to payments. Managing water bill
    information in the manual process also consumes a lot of time and effort for the reason that the
    data are entered manually and may produce inconsistent record. (PALIHUG KOG BASA ANI )

    Statement of the Problem

    A Water billing system is automated system that is based on paying water bills. Consumers more likely
    to be less hassle to pay via face-to-face basis. And, some water billing system didn't have this billing system,
    which causes some issues, including:

     Consumers cannot access on time due to the system.


     Consumers mystify with the filing system.
     Unsecured consumer’s data record.

    Objective of the Study

    This study aims to develop an automated system for the consumers.

    Specifically, this study aims to:

     To provide customers with quick and accurate access.


     To provide an organized filing system with simple access to records.
     Managing, storing, and securing the database record.
