Smart Counter

This document summarizes a digital counter system project created by three students - Aakash Ahmad, Ali Muavia, and Ahmad Saeed. The objective was to understand different counter techniques and integrated circuit registers. It describes the hardware components used, including breadboards, displays, timers, and transistors. It also lists some common applications of counters such as clocks, timers, event counting, and analog-to-digital conversion.

Objective: Hardware Requirement:

1. To Understand different types of

techniques used to decode different types 1. Bread-Board
of counters 2. 5V AC supply
2.To Recognize and understand the operation 3. Two 7 Segment Display
of various types of IC registers 4. Two 40110 ICs
5. Two IR Transmitter
3. To derive other simple sequential Receiver
networks 6. Two 555 Timer
7. Resistors
8. Capacitors

Description:

Counter is a digital device and the output of

the counter includes a predefined state based
on the clock pulse applications. The output Applications:
of the counter can be used to count the
number of pulses. Generally, counters consist
of a flip-flop arrangement which can be
synchronous counter or asynchronous
counter. Counter is a sequential circuit.
