At the end of the lesson, students are expected to:
a. define what are verbs by listening to the “Verb Rap Song”;
b. identify the verbs in every given sentences; c. produce and create an output that depicts their knowledge about verbs (e.g., video presentation such as role play, jingle or a song); and d. participate actively in the classroom activities.

main part of a sentence or phrase, telling a story about what is taking place. In fact, without a verb, full thoughts can’t be properly conveyed. Understood? Yes, ma’am!
Moving on, please read the first example for
me. Yes, Kristine? Mark eats his dinner quickly.

the verb or the action word is? You were raising your hand, Joshua? Eats, ma’am.
Correct. As you can observe, the verb is
often after the subject or the doer of the action.
Next example. Yes, Eugene and please
identify the verb. Erica writes neatly in her notebook. Writes is the verb in the given sentence, ma’am. Correct. Another example is that, “Mariah baked the cake.” What is the verb of the sentence? Yes, Lizel? The verb in the sentence is “baked,” ma’am. Again, correct. Thank you, Lizel. Class, upon identifying a verb in a given sentence, if you are unsure. You could recognize verbs by asking yourself if, “Can I do? Can I think, wonder, walk, or yawn?” Yes, these are verbs. Aside from this, you can also ask, “What is happening?” Let’s take our first example, “Mark eats his dinner quickly.” What do you think is happening? Yes, Mikee? Eating is happening, ma’am. Yes, eating is happening, so again, eating is? Yes, it’s verb. How about on the second and third example? Yes, Raquel?

Good job. Again, class, verbs are action ma’am. words and sometimes called, “Physical verbs” they describe specific physical actions. If you can create a motion with your body or use a tool to complete an action, the word you use to describe it is most likely a physical verb. Are we clear?
