ABSTRACT

This report talk about protecting your information and you company’s. This report also has information
about disposing company’s properties to not leak any secrets or information. This report also talked
about the rights of the employer and employee.

OBJECTIVES

At the end of this report, you are expected to;

 Learn how to properly dispose hardware that has or had data from the company.
 Learn to protect your own information.
 Learn and understand the importance of protecting your information.
 Learn your rights as an employee or employer.
DISCUSSION

PROTECTING THE PRIVACY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

SAFEGUARD YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS:

 Use separate email address for contacting close people and for online
shopping.
 Read a web site’s privacy policy and avoid putting too many personal details.
 Use privacy softwares like Privacy Guardian or VPN when using a public WiFi or
while Surfing in shady websites, iykyk.

USE FILTERS AND OPT OUT:

Use an email filter to sort potential spam emails and compile them to a folder.
Important messages might be in this folder so you should check it from time to time.

PROPERLY DISPOSE OF HARDWARE CONTAINING DATA

Wipe your data, don’t just delete. Use Data Destruction devices to destroy storage
media devices that contains sensitive data.

ELECTRONIC SURVEILLANCE AND MONITORING

VIDEO SURVEILLANCE

Used to monitor activities of people like your employees or kids.

Used for security. Cameras used for security usually has a facial recognition to catch
criminals.

They are usually mounted on public places like:

Schools, banks, streets, airports, etc.


EMPLOYEE MONITORING:

Observes, monitors, and records the actions of the employees. From monitoring their
computer and phone usage, emails, to monitoring their location.

It’s kinda creepy but it is legal and businesses

Use this to ensure their employees are doing their job.

Employers’ Responsibilities

Keep the information of employees, customers, and the company private and secure.

Let the employees know about the monitoring activities.

Employees’ Responsibilities

Read the policies of the company and never violate any rules.

Avoid personal activities at work. Keep it professional.


CONCLUSION

We need to know how to protect our information and our campany’s to not be attacked by people and
make them use those information to put you down. It is also important to know how to properly do it.
Knowing your rights, responsibilities as an employee or employer is also important to protect the
number one asset of every company, the workers, also to not get a lawsuit. That would be all.
