Annex P - Allowable External Loads On Tank Shell Openings

This document provides information to calculate geometric parameters and stiffness coefficients for a tank with the following characteristics: - Outside radius of opening connection is 304.8 mm - Vertical distance from opening centerline to tank bottom is 780 mm - Maximum filling height is 16000 mm - Normal design temperature is 45°C - Shell thickness at opening connection is 27 mm Values are calculated for the radial growth and rotation of the shell, as well as forces and moments at the opening connection. Charts are provided to determine non-dimensional parameters and coefficients.
