Introduction
Welspun di pipe made ductile iron pipe has plant
divided in two zones
1. hot zone
2. Cold zone or finishing zone
Hot zones consist of an indication furnace, gf
converter, centrifuge casting machine, and last
Anneliese finance.
The cold zone consists of Zinc coating, chamfering,
hydraulic pressure testing, cement motor lining,
curing furnace and last bituminous coating.
Induction furnace
Electrical furnace in which the heat is applied by
induction heating of metal. Induction furnace
capacities range from less than one kilogram to one
hundred tons, and are used to melt iron and steel,
copper, aluminum, and precious metals.
The induction furnace, a coil carrying alternating
electric current surrounds the container or chamber
of metal. Eddy currents are induced in the metal
(charge), the circulation of these currents producing
extremely high temperatures for melting the metals
and for making alloys of exact composition.
Induction furnaces do not have a limit to the temperature
they can melt and/or heat. However, the refractories and
materials that contain the heated or melted material have
limitations. The highest temperature typically reached in
open air is about 3300°F for a platinum melt.
Composition and Temperature
Temperature needed at various stages
1. Blast furnace temperature= 1539C°
2. Input temperature of IF = 1340C°
3. Output temperature of IF = 1540C°
4. Mg treatment temperature = 1480C°
5. CCM 1st Hopper temperature= 1450C°
6. CCM 2sr Hopper temperature= 1300C°
