1. RUNNING NUMBER BIB

Confirmed Dream participants will each be handed


their running number bibs at the Mirchi Get Active
Expo, along with 4 safety pins (to affix the bib). Please do
not misplace your bib – we will not be able to reissue.
The colour of your running number bib indicates the
race category you are participating in. The race distance
has been mentioned on your bib.

Before you fix your running bib, please write your


current medical condition, if any, and any medicines
your doctor may have prescribed for you. Also write the
name and contact details of the person we can call in
case of any race day emergency (such person must not
be a participant of the event).

Important: You must be extremely careful that your bib does not get exchanged with any other
runner's bib/timing tag, or handed over to any other person. Running bib is assigned specifically to
each runner; any exchange would result in disqualification of your participation from the 2023
and 2024 editions of the Tata Mumbai Marathon.

2. MEDICAL PRECAUTIONS

Are you ready to run on race day?

The last two plus years have been challenging for push themselves on race day. If you feel feverish, or

Have you been suffering from any sort of virus or fever in the 2 weeks prior to
race day? YES NO

Is your doctor currently prescribing drugs for your blood pressure or heart
condition? YES NO

Do have any difficulty in breathing, especially in cold and dry conditions? YES NO

Are you pregnant? YES NO

Are you diabetic? YES NO

Do you know of any other reason why you should not do physical activity? YES NO

If you have answered YES to any of the above questions, we strongly recommend that you seek advice
from your doctor before you run the race. Further, if you had contracted the COVID virus any time after
August 2022 or are suffering from any symptoms associated with long COVID syndrome, or post long
COVID syndrome, you are advised to take clearance from a registered medical practitioner or your doctor
before coming for the race. Runners need to take responsibility for their own health by adopting right
practices regarding training, eating and hydration.

Prevailing health advisories and mandatories as prescribed by the Central/State Governments shall apply.
All applicants and confirmed participants of the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2023 are requested to visit the

3. A QUICK CHECKLIST BEFORE
RACE DAY

Read this handbook thoroughly.

Visit the Mirchi Get Active Expo (Kalina University, Gate No.2, Open Ground of Sports Complex
Vidyanagari, Kalina, Santacruz (E), Mumbai 400098) to collect your running number bib. Do get your
email confirmation and your photo identity proof at the Expo.
Ÿ Wednesday, 11th January 2023 – 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Ÿ Thursday, 12th January 2023 – 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Ÿ Friday, 13th January 2023 – 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Ÿ Saturday, 14th January 2023 – 10 a.m. 5 p.m.

Where you are a Dream Run participant and part of a group, do ensure you have been handed over the
running number bib specifically allocated to you.

Do check that your medical/health insurance is up to date and valid.

Confirm that your emergency contact person (as given by you in the application form) is available and
easily reachable on race day in case of any emergency.
Check the weather forecast to plan on appropriate running clothing and equipment [ACCU weather
forecast for Mumbai on 15th January 2023 – 30°C high and 18°C low]
Familiarise yourself with road closures on race day.

Know your respective course well – it is your responsibility to know it on race day.

4A. RACE DAY: EVENT VENUE

The Dream Run will start from outside the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Railway Terminus (CSMT). On race
day, you need to assemble inside Azad Maidan at least one hour prior to start time.

Do ensure that you have pinned the running number bib to your running vest prior to entering Azad
Maidan. Entry is restricted to only confirmed participants wearing valid number bibs and duly accredited
individuals; your running number bib will be scanned at the entrance for verification. Further, you may
also be required to undergo frisking by the security officials. This is in the interest of safety of all on race
day. You are requested to cooperate with the security and police personnel. This is in interest of
everyone's safety on race day.

HOW TO REACH AZAD MAIDAN?


It is our sincere advice that you do not travel to Azad Venue using your own vehicle. There is no parking
available within the vicinity of Azad Maidan. The venue is well connected by local trains and there are 3
railway stations within walking distance.

Come, Celebrate and be part of Mumbai's most colourful street carnival – the Dream Run! Outshine on race
day through your creative, funky, innovative costumes and be noticed at the costume contest – Run In
Costume – to be eligible for cash prizes! And if you are running in support of a cause, this is the best
opportunity to shout out the 'cause' and stand out!
Best costumes will be judged by noted personalities. So grab your friends or go alone!

Race Day Judging


Dream Run participants who wish to enter for the Run in Costume contest need to report at the Run In
Costume stage by 6:45 a.m. (refer to event venue map for location). Judging will be conducted between 7:00
a.m. and 7:45 a.m. at this stage. Please note, where props are being used by any individual or group, the size
of the props should be such which can go through metal detectors and/or baggage scanners placed at the
entrance of venue premises. Every entry will be given not more than 2 minutes to display their act/theme.
Once winners are declared, they will be guided to the line-up area for the start of Dream Run.

Contest Rules
It is compulsory for participants to wear their bibs over their costumes.
Please note, participants carrying props representing any form of arms, ammunition or weapons will
be not be allowed to enter the venue premises, and of course not participate in the contest.
Participants can take part only in ONE of the two contest categories mentioned above.
The winners of individual and group categories will be basis concept and creativity. The decision of
judges on the number of winners declared shall be final and binding on all.
There will be no ties.

Dream Run 10
YOUR FINISH
The finish time limit for the Dream Run is till 10:40 a.m. on race day. If you are late and still determined to
reach the Finish, please keep to the footpath and then move towards the finish line; vehicular traffic will start
on the route.

Your finish line is diagonally opposite Metro INOX Cinema. Open your arms as you cross the finish line –
photographers will find it difficult to identify you. Once you cross the finish line, keep moving ahead towards
Azad Maidan. Do not stand at the finish line to pose for pictures or wait for your fellow running buddies.
Remember the runners just behind you too need to cross the finish line. We request all runners to respect
the finish line area and ensure that celebrations do not interfere with other runners' finish experience.
Friends, family members, and volunteers are strictly NOT permitted in the finish area.

Please note, once you have cross the Finish Gate, you cannot re-enter the course during the race time,
with or without your running number bib. Your participation is liable to be disqualified on re-entering the
course.

4B. RACE DAY:
IN CASE OF EMERGENCIES

Medical aid will be made available by event's Medical Partner, Asian Heart Institute. Runners are advised to
carry their own specific prescribed medicines. You must stop running the race immediately if instructed to
do so by a member of the medical crew – this is in the interest of your health and safety.
