INTRODUCTION

A. Background of the Study

Many people today get sick often, their bodies are weak, and they
can't get a check-up because they don't have money and almost all of
those who get sick are young and old. The traditional method used by
sick people, they go personally to the healthcare centers, then before
they can be given a check-up by the health worker they have to line up
for the number, only then can the patient consult with the health
workers. Due to Covid- 19 many adults got sick due to physical
weakness, there were also some children who got sick but they could
not leave the house because of their age.

In addition, there is a long line at the healthcare center for check-

ups. There is a healthcare center in Lobo, Batangas, where there is a
major problem. Many people go to healthcare for check ups, but there
are only a few health workers in that area, as well as a lack of nurses,
so they do not always immediately assist those who seek treatment. In
Brgy. Población Lobo, Batangas, only one health-center building is
located in a barangay with a population of 400 people. In addition to
this, there are more factors that hinder them from seeing health workers
for personal check-ups, like the fear of socializing with many people and
the possibility of getting the virus and getting sick. Similarly, because
everyone is quarantined, people become hesitant to go outside and lose
hope of being treated without hesitation.

The proponents came up with an idea for the people of Barangay

Poblacion in Lobo Batangas and proposed a functional system that they
thought could be used for health care in that area. The proposed
system is Smart Healthcare Companion System where it is contactless.
The patient won't wait long, the patient won't make a reservation just to
check up. This is done so that even when you are at home that the
patient can know the possible result for the pain that the patient’s
feeling and it will help healthcare workers’ workload by reducing
healthcare visits, reducing unnecessary treatments and
procedures, decreasing healthcare center admissions and readmissions
as treatment compliance and knowledge about their symptoms improve.

B. Questions

1. What is the importance of HealthCare Companion System?

2. What are some reasons why people easily get sick?
3. In what ways do HealthCare Companion System help many people in
the said area?
Objective of the Study

The objective of this study is to design and develop a Smart Healthcare

Companion System for “Healthcare Poblacion Lobo Batangas” which is
capable of providing a real-time “virtual visit” between the patients and
health workers/clinicians using the proposed system.
Specifically, the study aims to:

1. Establish and design a module that will allow patients to have instant
virtual access to specialists in a convenient way.
2. View schedules/appointments set by the patients and improve access
to patients and information.
3. Integrate modules that will assist specialists in analyzing patient’s
permanent records remotely, reducing patient office visits and wait
times.
4. Analyze and examine the user's acceptance of the proposed system
using the technology acceptance model framework.

Scope and Limitation Study

This system is web-based and runs with the use of the internet. It
can be accessed by the use of smartphones that have an internet
connection, this proposed system is a web-based where the patient or
the user can do an online check-up without having to go to a healthcare
worker or in a healthcare facility personally. The procedure of the
proposed system has no device in operation, the system had no
diagnosis. The proposed system is a routine check-up on the internet.
This system is intended to reduce the number of patients who go to the
center .The proponents develop a system that has an
admin login where it is the one who registered the health worker for
health care. There is a patient login where he/she is the one who will be
registered in the system.

Significance of the Study

The findings of this study will benefit society considering that the
Smart Healthcare Companion system plays an important role in science
and technology today. Benefiting to the study are the following:

The Patients can start the online check-up if he has register in the
system This will also enable the patients to edit or change their
password. The patient will be required to sign up for an account to login
or enter to the system. The patient can navigate the cursor by clicking
the body that show in the proposed system. The Health worker assists
the administrator for the online check-up. In the health worker section, it
is all about for online check-up for the patients.
The Healthcare Administrator is the one who will manage the
proposed system where the administrator can add, edit, and delete the
information of the Health worker and the patient. The healthcare
administrator can view the feedback of the patient.

II. Body

Today's era is the one of informatization. With the advancement of

technology and scientific theory, traditional medicine with biotechnology
as its core, has gradually begun to digitize and to informationize. And
smart healthcare incorporating a new generation of information
technology has emerged. Smart healthcare is not just a simple
technological advancement, but also an all-round, multi-level
change. These changes focus on meeting the individual needs of
people while improving the efficiency of medical care, which greatly
enhances the medical and health service experience, and represent the
future development direction of modern medicine. This review will start
from the concept of smart healthcare, then briefly introduce the key
technologies supporting smart healthcare and explain the achievements
and challenges of it by reviewing the application status of these
technologies in important medical fields, before finally putting forward
the future prospects of smart healthcare.

Smart healthcare consists of three important components: regional,

hospital, and family. Smart hospitals rely on information and
communication technology-based environments, especially those based
on Iot optimization and automated processes, to improve existing
patient care procedures and introduce new features. There are three
main types of services for smart hospitals: services for medical staff,
services for patients, and services for administrators. The demands of
these service users must be considered in hospital management
decisions. In hospital management, the information platform that
integrates multiple digital systems based on the Iot connects digital
devices, intelligent buildings, and personnel. This technology can also
be used for the identification and monitoring of patients in hospitals, the
daily management of medical staff, and the tracking of instruments and
biological specimens. Smart healthcare is also employed in the
pharmaceutical industry for drug production and circulation, inventory
management, anti-counterfeiting, and other processes. In terms of
decision-making, the establishment of an integrated management
platform can realize functions such as resource allocation, quality
analysis, and performance analysis, and can reduce medical costs,
maximize the utilization of resources, and help hospitals make decisions
regarding development. In terms of patient experience, patients can
access multiple functions, such as physical examination systems, online
appointments, and doctor-patient interactions. These automated
systems make patients' medical treatment processes more concise.
Patients wait for a shorter time and receive more humanized service. In
sum, integration, refinement, and automation are the future directions of
smart hospitals.

With the application of big data and artificial intelligence in scientific

research, drug research and development will become more precise
and convenient. A complete drug development process includes target
screening, drug discovery, clinical trials, and more. Traditional drug
target screening manually crosses the known drugs with various
potential target molecules in the human body, in order to find effective
action points. This method is not only slow, but also often overlooked.
The automatic screening of the effects of drugs and targets by artificial
intelligence has greatly increased the speed of screening. In addition,
the artificial intelligence system can also collect the latest information
from the outside world in real time and can optimize or correct the
screening process at any time.

III. Conclusion

In sum, the prospects for smart healthcare are vast. For individual
users, smart healthcare can facilitate better health self-management.
Timely and appropriate medical services can be accessed when
needed, and the content of medical services will be more personalized.
For medical institutions, smart healthcare can reduce costs, relieve
personnel pressure, achieve unified management of materials and
information, and improve the patient's medical experience. For research
institutions, smart healthcare can reduce the cost of research, reduce
research time, and improve the overall efficiency of research. With
regard to macro decision-making, smart healthcare can improve the
status quo of medical resource inequality, push the process of medical
reform, promote the implementation of prevention strategies, and
reduce social medical costs. However, there are still some problems in
the development process. The solution to these problems depends not
only on technological progress, but also on the joint efforts of patients,
doctors, health institutions, and technology companies.
Recommendation

Therefore, to solve the above mentioned problem, we need to focus

on two aspects: technology and regulation. Firstly, in terms of
technology, we can accelerate the maturity and stabilityof related
technologies through upgrades. Legislation is a practical road to
guarantee the privacy of relevant personnel and make smart healthcare
more secure.
