Based on the scenario, these the individual human factors that have
negatively influenced the behaviour of the SC workers.
An organisation called ‘Workspace’ (WS) wants to refurbish a kitchen and storeroom
within its large office building, with two Contractors: Tabulatum Ltd (TL), Smith’s
Carpentry (SC).The SC workers made an accident at the site.

1- When the SE representative was absent from the meeting, this


appear as negative attitude toward their work.
2- The SC worker did not recognize the plan to start the work, and this
will effect on their skills negatively.
3- The SC would not be in the office until after the weekend. This means
that there is no competence to their work, and no ability to bring the
SC up.
4- The site manager was unhappy with the response of SC, this bad
behaviour will leads to negative behaviour.
5- The SC manager did not think that they needed to attend the
meeting, this considered as a bad personality that will increase the
risk for their worker.
6- The SC Company do not have membership of any, professional or
trade bodies, this meant that bad experience of work.
7- The SC reluctant to provide further health and safety information,
and this careless leads to negative behaviour in their work.
8- The SC Company provide risk assessments 4 years previously, this
appear a bad risk perception toward their work.
9- The SC worker arrives late to the workplace, and this is a bad
impression and lack in skills, which leads to negative behaviour.
10- The SC workers find that the vehicle access gate was locked,
this means that they did not be aware about the workplace
conditions.
11- The SC workers, drive to the front of the building, and that was
not allowed, this appear as bad attitude.
12- Unloading the wood of sheet require two worker to lift, the
trainee has not yet had manual handling training, this leads to poor
risk perception.
13- The trainee have some concerns about helping with the lift,
and this a bad behaviour that represent poor skills.
14- The experienced worker thinks that the trainee did not need
training to pick things up, and this clarify a bad efficiency of the
workers.
15- The experienced worker think that health and safety is a
common sense, and it is a bad risk perception.
16- The trainee is keen to help in grabbing one end of the wooden
sheet, but it was difficult for him, this is appear a bad training to their
workers.
17- The experienced worker walks backwards without seeing the
roller on the floor, and it is a poor risk perception.
18- After the accident, the trainee worker was not know what to
do, and this is a bad attitude.
19- The trainee explains that they have not received any general
health and safety training, which represent the bad competence.
20- The trainee says that they have not be given a manual handling
training, and this leads to bad quality training.
