INSTALLATION UPLOADING AND ACTIVATING

Go to Appearance -> Themes Click Install Select Upload from the menu Browse for the zip file of the theme you can find in the main zip file you downloaded from us After uploading, click Activate

INITIAL THEME SETUP

After activating, in left sidebar, click on UltimaticaTheme Options

In Design and layout menu tab, select your layout preferences, color scheme, and insert logo (there s three areas - slideshow at the top, blog rows in the middle, and gallery at the bottom) In Categories make sure you input the correct category names, if there s two words in the category name don t separate them with space but with a -. If you want more categories in blog area, separate them with commas, but don t put space after comma. Click Save

DESIGN AND LAYOUT 3 LAYOUT AREAS

As mentioned before, there are three layout areas. Slideshow, blog and gallery. Slideshow area will fetch posts from the category you specify in theme options. It also needs a thumbnail image (size is 250x150) that you need to insert in a custom field when you re adding a new post. In name put thumb and in the value insert the URL of the thumbnail. You can upload the thumbnail normally while adding a new post via standard Wordpress upload and just copy the URL.

OTHER STYLING
Color Scheme - Select the color scheme from the drop down menu. The background menu as well as text styling will be changed after saving. Currently there s 5 color scheme but I ll be adding more in the future. Sidebar Position - In UltimaticaTheme, not only can you change the layout of pages, but single posts too! Via this dropdown you can easily move sidebar to the left or right. Logo URL - Paste the URL to your logo image. You can upload it via adding a new post for example or FTP. The suggested size is 300x100px. Custom CSS - You can put any CSS in this box and it will overwrite other styles.

EDITING MENUS

In UltimaticaTheme there are two menu areas. The upper menu, and the footer menu. Those are edited Wordpress menu editor. Go to Appearance -> Menus Create two menus in the right portion of the screen by clicking on the plus sign Assign whatever you want to each menu After you re done editing, in left portion of the screen there s Theme Locations widget, assign the right menu to the correct place via dropdowns and click save.

INSERTING ADS

Inserting ads into UltimaticaTheme is a piece of cake. You just need to paste ad code into the box you want in UltimaticaTheme options -> Advertisments. There are 4 ad areas currently: Header ad - top right corner of the header - 468x60px size Sidebar ad - top of the sidebar - 250px wide Above post ad - just below the title of the post - you can also put two ads here next to each other Below post ad - just below the post and above comments - HAD BEST CTR FOR ME

ADDING NEW POSTS

There s nothing special you need to know about this, just that if you want to e.g. post in slideshow you need to select the category you specified in theme options. For the thumbnail to show up you need to put image URL into a custom field with name thumb . For slideshow, thumbnail size should be 250x150, for blog 125x125 and for gallery 290x250.

MAKING A LOCAL BUSINESS WEBSITE

This one is for you offliners. To change the front page layout to the single post layout, you need to add a new page. In title input the welcoming heading, and in post they introduction text of the business or whatever you want. The last twist is to select Front Page for page template in Page Attributes to the right, just like you will do for facebook minisite. After that go to Settings -> Reading, and click A static page for Front page displays: , after that select the page that you previously posted from the dropdown and save. To enable blog updates on the front page, you need to enable Blog area from theme options and that s it.

FACEBOOK MINISITE
Go to Pages -> Add new in WP-admin The title of the page will be the title at the top of Facebook page, and the content you insert will be below that title on the Facebook page In Page Attributes to the right, select Facebook for page template

Publish the page and copy the URL for now Go to https://developers.facebook.com/apps (install the Developers app if you haven t already) Click Create new app at the top right portion of the screen Insert the name of your app (agree to the terms, and verify your facebook account if you haven t already) When editing screen appears, click On Facebook -> Canvas Settings

Scroll to the bottom, to Page Tabs to be more precise In Tab Name insert how would you like the tab called where the minisite will be on your fan page In Tab URL insert the page URL that you copied previously Save changes

After saving, click View App Profile Page in the left sidebar at the bottom Now click Add to My Page, when the pop up appears, click add to the page you want the minisite to appear on Voila! That s it. Only thing you could do is make that minisite open first when visitors open your fan page.
