This paper is made up of five equally weighted questions.


 
Answer any three questions.
 
Any additional question(s) answered will not be marked.
 
Each candidate is provided with support files in the folder Support Files on the
Computer Desktop. Use the support files where applicable to supplement the questions.
Each candidate is provided with a new blank Compact Disc (CD).
 
Candidates should continuously save their work.
 
Each candidate must produce a hard copy for each of their work to accompany the
Compact Disc (CD).

1) Using a word processor of your load the file “weather.docx” from support files and use it
to answer the questions below;
a) Make a duplicate of the document to the third page and use it to answer the questions
that follow. (02 marks)
b) Add a suitable heading of your choice above the passage. (02 marks)
c) Format the heading to font Arial, colour blue and character space 5pts.
(02 marks)
d) Change the line space of the last paragraph to multiple at 1.5pts. (01 mark)
e) Double Wave underline the table heading with a red colour. (01 mark)
f) Change the font size of the heading to 15pts. (01 mark)
g) Using the heading and the subheading on page one, insert an automated table of contents
on the second page. (03 marks)
h) Add a water mark of the image “W01” from support files. (02 marks)
i) Format the last paragraph into two columns with a line in-between. (02 marks)
j) Drop cap the second paragraph to three lines with 1 inch distance from text.

k) Copy the document reference and use it as footnote to the heading. (02 marks)
l) Add a footer of an automated date and time center aligned. (01 mark)
m) Save the work and produce a hardcopy (01 mark)

2) Kikaaba traders supermarket uses a spreadsheet program to manage its inventory as


shown in the table below;

a) Enter the above data in a spreadsheet program starting from cell B1 and use it to answer
questions below. (04 marks)
b) Use suitable formula or function, to determine the total cost for each item.

c) Due to increase in Rent, the wholesaler increased the price of all items by 20%.
Determine the new price of each item. (02 marks)
d) Add a suitable heading of your choice to your data (center aligned, size 16 and colour
green). (01 mark)

e) Align all column headings to 45 clockwise. (01 mark)
f) Add a “shs” currency symbol to all money values. (01 mark)
g) Using a function, count all products whose total cost exceeds 500,000. Return your
answer in cell B15. (02 marks)

h) Add a blue printed watermark of the word “Inventory” to your data (02 marks)
i) Using the column of total cost and new cost, draw a 3D-colmun chart and move it to
worksheet 2. (02 marks)
j) Rename the worksheet containing your data as “inventory” and the one containing the
chart as “projection”. (01 mark)
k) Add a centered footer of your name and index number (01 mark)
l) Save your work and produce hardcopies of both worksheets. (01 mark)

3) Kampala pharmacy intends to change its data management from manual to electronic
database. As an ICT student, use a database management system to load the file
“pharmacy.accdb” and use it to create a simple database for the pharmacy;

a) Assign suitable data types and a primary key to the table medicine. (01 mark)
b) Use lookup wizard for the category field and set its field size to 10. (02 marks)
c) Create a form and use it to enter the data below in the table medicine. Save the form as
“PharmacyForm”. (02 marks)

e) Create a query to filter out all syrup medicine and save it as “SyrupMedicine”.

f) Create a query and filter all tablets produced in 2007 and above. Save it as
“Above2007”. (02 marks)
g) Create a calculated query and filter all medicines whose amount is above 1000,000.
Save it as “MillionMedicine (02 marks)
h) Create a query and filter all medicine whose product name begins with letter A. save it
as “BeginA” (02 marks)
i) Create a query and filter out all expired medicines in the pharmacy. Save it as
“ExpiredMedicine” (02 marks)
j) Create a report for the “ExpiredMedicine” query and save it as “ExpiredReport”
(02 marks)
k) Save and produce a table and a report for your work. (01 mark)

4) Corona virus pandemic break out left millions of lives lost and millions affected socially,
economically and politically. As a student of ICT, you are required to create a five slide
presentation about corona virus disease.
Create the five slides as follows;
Slide one: introductory slide with the topic and name of the presenter. (01 mark)
Slide two: a two content slide layout with the most common symptoms and serious
symptoms of the disease, (02 marks)
Slide three: a summarized table showing covid cases in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
(02 marks)
Slide four: should include precautionary measures to prevent oneself from acquiring the
virus. (02 marks)
Slide five: conclusion (01 mark)
NB: Use the file “corona virus.docx” to supplement your ideas.

a) Use non-uniform slide background for your presentation (02 marks)


b) Add animation and transitions of your choice to the presentation (02 marks)
c) Loop your presentation to run continuously until escape (01 mark)
d) Add your index number and todays date as the header and footer respectively
(01 mark)
e) Use Appropriate images from the support file “corona virus.docx” (02 marks)
f) Using the table on slide three, create a column chart on slide six. (02 marks)
g) Add navigation buttons to all your slides (01 mark)
h) Save and print a handout of all your slides on one page (01 mark)

5) Your school is to host music dance and drama (MDD) competitions this term. As an ICT
student, you have been approached by the patron to design an invitation card for the above
function to invite guests for the function scheduled for 5th/6/2022 at your school starting at
9:00am. (08 marks)
a) Add your name as the invited guest for the function (02 marks)
b) Add an image from support files as the logo for your invitation card (03 marks)
c) Add suitable designs of your choice to the invitation card (03 marks)
