12 February

Grand Carnival in Fleur-de-Lys and B’Kara – organised by the Fleur-de-Lys


Administrative Committee and the B’Kara Local Council.
Grand defile linking two seated arenas, one in Fleur-de-Lys and one in B’Kara. Floats,
traditional Maltese bands, dance troupes, spontaneous acts. Info. line: 21 442626

Ġieħ Mġarr - organised by the Mġarr Local Council


Venue: Kulleġġ San Nikola, Skola Primarja, Mġarr.
Time: 19.00 hrs.

Carnival-The Nadur Local Council will be organising a Carnival event consisting of


various Carnival attractions, including costumes, dances, floats, and the traditional
"kukkanja" which will be held in St. Peter and St. Paul Square.

Carnival Activity – organised by the Marsascala Local Council, including a Costume


Competition and a defile made up of various dance schools including the local band.
Venue: Defile – from Mifsud Bonnici Square to St Anne’s Garden, Marsascala
Time: 18.00 hrs.
Carnival Spectacle
Venue: St Anne’s Garden, Marsascala
Time: 18.30 hrs
Costume competition applications are available from Marsascala Local Council during
office hours.

13 February
Carnival Soiree – organised by Għarb Local Council. A Carnival Soiree filled with
various items, including costume competitions, dance groups from Malta and Gozo and
special guests. The Council will also hold the ‘Il-Maskarat Misterjuz’ competition and
the traditional Carnival game, Il-Kukkanja.
Venue: Main Square, Għarb
Time: 19.30 hrs.

15 February
Carnival Activity organised by Ta’ Kerċem Local Council.
Venue: Pjazza Orvieto, Ta’ Kerċem.
Time: 18.30 hrs.

17 February
17 - 21 February
The traditional, unique Carnival known as the spontaneous Carnival will be held in the
centre of the village of Nadur.

Carnival Costume Competition – organised by Xewkija Local Council.


Venue: Teatru Giovanni (Parish Centre), Xewkija.
Time: 19.00 – 21.30 hrs.
Carnival Activity in Żebbug Gozo.
The event starts with a Band March by the Soċjeta Filarmonika Banda Santa Marija of
the Locality of Żebbug followed by a Carnival show in the main square of the Village
Pjazza l'Assunta. This will include the participation of folk groups, Carnival groups and
individual masks. A costume competition will be held and the event will come to an end
with the Kukkanja.

Carnival Grand Parade organised by the Qormi Local Council.


This activity involves the three bands of the locality as well as several dance companies
removed coma from Qormi and others from outside the village.
Venue: St Francis Square, Qormi.
Time: 19.00 hrs.

18 February
Carnival Weekend - organised by St Paul’s Bay Local Council. Carnival band and
costume competition, along the promenade and the village core.
Venue: Opposite San Pawl il-Baħar Parish Church, St Paul’s Bay.
Time: 14.00 hrs.

Varied Carnival Programme – organised by the Xagħra Local Council. The


programme includes games for children, Carnival competitions, dance by local
companies and the traditional Kummittiva dance.
Venue: Nazzarenu Square, Xagħra, Gozo.
Time: 19.30 onwards.

Carnival Variety Show – organised by Xewkija Local Council.


Venue: St John the Baptist Square, Xewkija.
Time: 18.00 hrs onwards.

19 February
Carnival Band Marches by the Victory Philharmonic Society – organised by the
Xagħra Local Council. The band march starts from Bambina Street and continues along
8th September Avenue and Victory Square.
Time: 10.00 hrs.
Varied Carnival Programme including dances by local companies, Carnival floats and
more. The prinjolata will be distributed to those who participate in the competitions
organised by the Xagħra Council.
Time: 12.00 Noon.

Children and Pet Parade in Costume – organised by the Dingli Local Council.
Venue: Main Street, Dingli. (Next to Francis Ebejer Monument)
Time: 09.30 hrs onwards.

Carnival Variety Show with the participation of Banda Maria Mater Gratiae organised
by Żabbar Local Council.
Venue: Bus Terminus, Sanctuary Street, Żabbar.
Time: 09.00 hrs.

Carnival Activity – organised by Għaxaq Local Council.


Venue: St Mary Square, Għaxaq.

Carnival Parade Floats and Dance Companies – organised by the Xewkija Local
Council. Afterwards the traditional Kukkanja will be held.
Venue: Soil Street, Xewkija.

20, 21 February
Spontaneous Carnival along the streets of Għaxaq.
