SUBJECT : After Activity Report Re: Webinar on Republic Act 7279,


Executive Order No. 153, and other related laws for LGUs of
Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental

DATE : November 29, 2021

1. References:
a. Letter Order Nr 2021-128, authorizing the NPTFPSSS personnel to
travel from present office to DHSUD in Quezon City on November 25,
2021 as Resource Speakers dated November 17, 2021; and

b. Letter from Atty. Alvin T. Claridades, Director IV, National Drive Against
Professional Squatters and Squatting Syndicates (NDAPSSS) –
Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD)
dated November 16, 2021.

2. This pertains to the Webinar on Republic Act 7279 (Urban Development


and Housing Act of 1992 (UDHA)), Executive Order No. 153, and other related laws
for LGUs of Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental attended by PEMS Katherine D Molina
and PCMS Almario P Aviles as PNP Resource Speakers via virtual platform (Zoom
App) held at 8th Floor, DHSUD Building, Kalayaan Ave., Quezon City. Said webinar
was original scheduled on November 19, 2021 but later moved on November 25,
2021 as per request of Gingoog City Planning and Development Office.

3. In this regard, the following were the highlights of the activities:

a. Atty Alvin T Claridades, NDAPSSS Chairman, delivered the opening


remarks and short introduction to the 33 participants from various
Barangays of Gingoog City. He emphasize that this kind of
training/webinar amidst the pandemic is essential to various barangays
officials to increase their information awareness in curtailing the
activities of PSSS in their area of responsibility;
b. The webinar for various barangays of Gingoog City started by the
following resource persons:

b.1. Atty. Jeryl Rondez of DHSUD who discussed the salient features
of Executive Order 153;
b.2. Atty. Adrian Fadrilan of Land Registration Authority (LRA) on
“How to detect fake/spurious and fraudulent land titles”;
b.3. Atty. Gina Wenceslao of Department of Interior and Local
Government (DILG) on the Creation of the Local Committee on
Professional Squatters and Squatting Syndicates (LCAPSSS);
b.4. ASEC Margaret Castillo-Padilla from DOJ, discussed the Roles
and Program of Department of Justice for the NDAPSSS;
b.5. Atty. Jose Domingo Aizpuru from Public Attorney’s Office (PAO)
discussed the Role of PAO;
b.6. PEMS Molina and PCMS Aviles discussed the Legal Bases of
NPTFPSSS and the Modus Operandi of PSSS; and
b.7. Mr. Winston Morella of Presidential Commission for the Urban
Poor (PCUP) on the salient provisions of Republic Act No. 7279,
respectively.

c. During the open forum, the resource speakers adequately address all
issues raised.

d. The activity ended at about 5:00 PM of the same day.

4. In view thereof, request for the issuance of a Certificate of Commendation


to the above-named PNCOs for their active participation during this activity.
