1. State whether the statements given below are true/false; provide necessary justification for
the choice (the mark will be awarded based on the justification)
i. In static cone penetration test, the cone attached to the drill rod is driven into the soil.
ii. In SPT, a safety hammer requires greater number of blows than an automatic trip
hammer for 150 mm penetration.
iii. Usually, undisturbed samples are collected from SPT.
iv. From trial pits, only disturbed samples are obtained.
