Content

UNIT AIM

Provide an opportunity for students to engage in an extended activity related to their discipline of choice. The unit
will enable students to take responsibility for their learning by responding positively to the greater opportunities
for individual expression and creativity afforded, and to demonstrate their achievement through proposing and
realising a project which integrates the skills, knowledge and understanding acquired throughout the course.

TASK 1: CREATE YOUR WEEBLY PAGE

Your Weebly page should have the heading:

FMP Year 2

It should have the following tabs:

1. Intro / Statement of Aims


2. Research and Development
3. Planning / Schedule
4. Daily Reflection Log
5. Exhibition
6. Final Evaluation

TASK 2: STATEMENT OF AIMS

The Statement of Aims must be complete by the end of the 2nd week of this process, and includes the following
headings:

Project Concept
Evaluation
Proposed Research Sources
Equipment Required
Resources Required
Skills to Develop/learn
Personnel and Responsibilities
Intended Audience and Context

This section provides evidence for the following LO’s:

TASK 3: RESEARCH

Research is ongoing throughout the ENTIRE project, and should include the following:

EXTENSIVE Primary and Secondary research


Research into key techniques
Research into existing professional examples of relevant work
Research into target audience
Research into ANYTHING RELEVANT to your project

TASK 4: PRE-PRODUCTION and PLANNING

Before you can begin production, you need to produce any appropriate paperwork first. This should include (but
is not exclusive to):

Script
Storyboards
Script Breakdown paperwork
Animatics
Risk Assessments
Production Schedule
Call Sheets
Contingency Plans
Location Recce
Plus anything else specific to your idea

There is also a worksheet on Moodle to help with this task.

This section provides evidence for the following LO’s:

13 – 4.1 Demonstrate the ability to plan, organise and produce a creative media production project within an
agreed time frame.

TASK 5: PRODUCTION

Keep up-to-date logs of your contributions for your Production Diary – you should also take video/stills/audio to
include within your blog or reflective comments.

This task provides evidence for the following LO’s:

13 – 3.1 Solve practical and technical problems within a creative media production project.
13 – 3.2 Solve theoretical problems within a creative media production project.

13 – 5.1 Demonstrate the exploration, adaptation and application of practical methods and skills in the realisation
of a creative media production project.

TASK 6: DAILY REFLECTION LOG*

You need to update this page every day in order to provide ONGOING REFLECTION.
What you have done and what the results were.
How you feel things have gone.
What went well
What could have been done better
What you could have (or will do) differently next time.

TASK 7: SURVEYS, FEEDBACK AND EVALUATION

When the practical work is finished, you need to get feedback in order to write the Final Evaluation.

You need to create surveys / questionnaires in order to get objective opinions of your work.

TASK 8: EXHIBITION PLANNING

This will take place during a review week where staff will be marking your work so far.

You will be shown the exhibition space and given guidelines for creating poster materials.
You will be given guidelines on how to present AV materials.
You must show that you have considered different ways of presenting your work.
You must show that you have researched existing exhibition spaces.

This task will provide evidence for the following LO:

13 – 7.1 Explore strategies to present a creative media production project

TASK 9: EXHIBITION

You are required to set up and monitor your exhibition to ensure it is set up and running correctly.
Audiences will be invited to come and see your work.
Your exhibition space must be set up in a professional manner and in accordance with health and safety
practices.

This task will provide evidence for the following LO:

13 – 7.2 Present a creative media production project to a specified audience.
