1. Khái niệm:

Câu điều kiện hỗn hợp loại 1 là sự kết hợp của câu điều kiện loại 3 và câu điều kiện loại 2.

2. Công thức – Cấu trúc: If + S + had + Ved2, S + would + V

Ví dụ: - If he had worked harder at school, he would be a student now.

3. Cách dùng câu điều kiện hỗn hợp

=> Mệnh đề điều kiện là điều không có thật ở quá khứ, mệnh đề chính là điều không có thật ở
hiện tại.

Ví dụ: If we had looked at the map, we wouldn’t be lost today/ now.

B. Conditional sentence special cases

1. Without + Noun phrase = If type 2/3

E.g: Without Internet, it would take much more time to research information
But for/ Had it not been for + Noun Phrases = If it hadn’t been for …. = IF TYPE 3
Were it not for + Noun phrase = If it weren’t for …. = IF TYPE 2
E.g: But for your help, I couldn’t have finished this exercise.
2. Provided/Providing that = As long as (Dùng giống IF về format)

Suppose/Supposing that = What… if

E.g: Provided that you finish your homework, I will let you go out with your friends.

4. If only/wish

Type Format Usage

1 If only/ I wish +S + would + Vbare Mong ước trái với tương lai
2 If only/I wish + S + V quá khứ Mong ước trái với hiện tại
