Circulatory System

The circulatory system transports blood throughout the body via the heart and blood vessels. The heart has four chambers that pump blood through two circuits - the pulmonary circuit, which circulates blood to the lungs, and the systemic circuit, which pumps blood to the rest of the body. Blood carries oxygen, nutrients, wastes and hormones, and its movement is powered by the heart's rhythmic contractions in a cycle of relaxation and contraction.
