SAQ-1: How are minerals important in our lives?

 Minerals is both use for medicines and technology, we used technology nor
medicine since we were born, and technology such as ultrasonography, blood
pressure screening, maternal/fetal pulse oximetry, and infusion pumps are all
the most common technological advances currently available for assessment
and maternal/fetal care during birth and all of those technology used need
minerals such as copper and more to make a machine works and also minerals
are used for medicines such as potassium, calcium and many more to help the
humans grow and survive and if you didn’t realize it yet take a look in your
cellphones, laptops, or computers there are all have minerals inside it like
copper or gold and minerals are really important because it help humans for
technology and health.
SAQ-2: Discuss the importance of minerals and give 4 essentials of minerals in the society.

 Aluminum, Barium, Chromite, Coltan, Copper, Dolomite, Feldspar, Gallium,

Germanium, Gold, Halite, Indium, Iron, Lead, Lithium, Manganese, Mercury,
Mica, Nickel, Quartz, Silicon, Silver, Sulfite, Tantalum, Tin, Tungsten,
Uranium and Zinc are commonly used for technology and without minerals,
technology can’t be possible and minerals are important for your body to stay
healthy. Your body uses minerals for many different jobs, including keeping
your bones, muscles, heart, and brain working properly. Minerals are also
important for making enzymes and hormones.
 Essential minerals that is, those necessary for human health are calcium,
chloride and many more but in technology copper are essential because are
used in everything from electrical wiring and also gold are resistant to rust and
corrosion, gold is the world's most reliable and durable electrical conductor
Let’s Practice!!!
Activity set A:
Household Items Some Minerals needed to produce them

1. Cake/Bread Phosphates
2. Fertilizer Nitrogen/Sulfur
3. Toothpaste Fluorite
4. Pencil Graphite/Clay
5. Sugar Lime
6. Medicines Magnesium/Sulfur
7. Lipstick ` Calcium Carbonate
8. Water Lime/Salt
9. Concrete Iron/Clay
10. Jewelry Precious Stores
Activity set B:
1.
Resources Differences Examples
A. Metallic Resources Metallic Minerals are minerals in which platinum group metals, nickel,
metal elements are present in their raw cobalt, gold, copper, silver and
form and When metallic minerals are zinc
melted a new product is formed.
B. Non Metallic Resources Non-metallic minerals do not contain any Sand, gravel, limestone, clay, and
metal substances in them and marble.
Nonmetallic minerals are a special group
of chemical elements from which no new
product can be generated if they are
melted
2. Other than as jewelry, why is Gold (Au) important to society?

 In fact we have gold in our heart, that’s perhaps they say we have “Golden
Hearts” and for society Gold are important because we all used gold since the
beginning from trading and buying and also for jewelry, Gold are used to
symbolize power, beauty, purity, and accomplishment. Today we continue to
use gold for our most significant objects: wedding rings, Olympic medals,
Oscars, Grammys, money, crucifixes and ecclesiastical art.
3. What will happen if the world will run out of minerals? How will the people survive?

 If mineral ran out like zero supply then we will all die, because salt is a
mineral in fact, all animal life would probably die without good old NaCl. So,
despite of the fact that it makes seawater taste awful, and thus hinders modern
civilization in its thirst for more drinking water... be glad of salt and how
human survives, it’s like no chance of survival without minerals because we
live because of minerals, like water or food.
