SQ4R Method

The SQ4R method is presented as a practical way to help students keep their studying organized and efficient. It consists of 6 steps: 1) Survey the text and chapters, 2) Make questions from the title, subtitle, or first sentence of paragraphs, 3) Read actively, 4) Respond to questions, 5) Record notes, and 6) Review notes. The teacher's role is to provide the text, ask students to make questions, invite reading, check understanding with questions, and review important information. The student's role is to read the title, make and answer questions before and after reading, re-read unclear parts, answer the teacher's questions, and summarize the information.
