1. What are the significant contributions of Arnis as National Sport and Martial Art to our culture

national identity?
Firstly, arnis is a Filipino martial art that utilizes sticks instead of swords. It was created by
the country's indigenous people and combined with other local forms of fighting during
the
Spanish occupation. Today, arnis is one of the most popular martial arts globally, and It is also
part
of the National Sports- and for a good reason. It evolved from a physical training system to an art
form that passes down through traditions, dances, and theater to future generations. It
now
recognizes it as a sport that is practiced and contested in all corners of the world.
Nowadays, learning basic attack skills using arnis will help us in self-defense. It is also
essential that as we learned the arnis, it practices self-control and discipline. Arnis represent our
culture because we fought this as a combat tool in the Spaniards era to fight for our
independence. All of Filipinos' essential cultural and historical values continue to hold and use
in
their daily lives are embedded into arnis.
2. Based on your honest opinion, do you believe that the different government agencies like
Department of Education (DepEd) and Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), are successful on
their
programs on the promotion of arnis as national sport and martial art? Justify your answer.
I believe that it is a success in teaching arnis of different government agencies. In my high
school, grade 7, to be exact, they introduced the basic skills using arnis, and I remember some
skills
in our Physical Education that they taught, and they teach the brief history of arnis in our class.
And
also, I believe that in the Palarong Pambansa in every school has sport in arnis. That's
why it is a
success promoting arnis as national sports and martial arts.

To be most effective at arnis, one
must be fast and precise. Human
coordination helps them to make
choices instinctively, without
having to worry about it.
Arnis has a lot of benefits that we
can take advantage of. Apart from
physical fitness, it can also
discipline us because it helps us
follow positive ethics such as
punctuality, principles, and
appropriate
behavior. Arnis help us
meditating alleviate stress
because participating in arnis
can improve our
perspective, mindset, and
confidence, focusing on
improving our physical fitness
and mental and
emotional health. Aside from
improving strength and cardio, I
think it helps gain stamina and
quicker
reflexes. It is also for self-
defense in case of emergency as
we learned n advanced arnis,
there is no
required stick to protect us in
danger. It gives you a healthy
lifestyle. Furthermore, It gives
you positive
encouragement and respect for
values in martial arts. Also, it may
be a means for us to socialize and
