1 Cold side of stoplight switch Red
installation instructions supplied with Brake
2 Battery (+) Black Control Unit before wiring.
3 Ground (-) White
4 Brake Blue

1. Disconnect negative (-) cable before wiring Brake Control Unit. Use Ring Terminals for battery connections
(provided).
IMPORTANT: Read and follow all warnings and cautions on tow vehicle battery.

2. Connect wires accordingly to the wiring diagram. Use butt connectors and wire tap provided.
CAUTION: The WHITE(-) wire MUST be connected to a known ground or to a suitable ground location
( negative battery terminal). Inadequate grounding may cause intermittent braking or lack of sufficient voltage to trailer
brakes.
NOTE: When passing wire through sheet metal, always go through an existing grommet. Add a grommet or use
silicone rubber to insulate the wire from the hole.

WARNING
All connections must be complete to function properly. Test and verify installation with a test light, circuit tester or trailer
once installed.

WARNING
Overloading circuit can cause fires. DO NOT exceed lower of towing manufacturer rating or:
 Max. Right Turn, Left Turn, Stop, & Tail Light Circuits: (7.5 amps)
Max. (+) Battery, Reverse, and Electric Brake Circuits: (30 amps) Read vehicle's owners manual & instruction
sheet for additional information. Additional fusing may be required.
