Global Warming: Globalization and its Consequences

1. Discuss the relationship of globalization and global warming. Discuss the severity of
the problem.

As our world becomes increasingly globalized, the environment is experiencing its

own set of aftereffects or repercussions as a result of the expanding worldwide market that
exists today. Industries that were once local, such as the textile and engineering industries,
as well as those that were previously international, such as the transportation and global
trade industries, have become increasingly multi-national.

Today, transportation has become truly globalized, as there is little difference in the
way transport is conducted within a country as compared to across the world. Emissions of
various greenhouse gases are obviously visible when companies manufacture goods, and
easy access to worldwide travel contributes to the rising percentage of greenhouse gases,
which is the primary cause of global warming. This type of activity, which we have adopted
in order to make our economy more globalized, exacerbates environmental degradation.

Global warming is a major contributor to the world's crises, such as the melting of
ice at the north and south poles, which has resulted in the extinction of many species that
inhabit there, as well as the increasing water level of the ocean. Droughts and wildfires are
becoming more common as the global temperature rises. Just mentioning a few of the
impacts of global warming reveals that they are far worse than we imagined.

Undeniably, this new globalization has affected our environment, ecology, and
economy, and it is having a profound impact on our collective future. We might claim that
globalization and global warming are closely intertwined. Their relationship is directly
proportional to one another. The rate of global warming is growing as our planet becomes
more industrialized and globalized.

2. Discuss the actions taken by the government and its people to solve global warming.

Global leaders gather every year at the United Nations Climate Conference to
discuss ways to help prevent and better prepare for global warming. The Paris Agreement,
the first binding global climate agreement, was created during COP21. During COP23,
delegates seek to establish rules to allow for its proper implementation. In Paris in 2015,
world leaders from 197 countries pledged to put people first and reduce their countries’
greenhouse gas emissions.
As public policies on global warming evolve globally, regionally, nationally, and
locally, they fall into two distinct categories. The first category, mitigation policy, focuses
on various methods for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. A rising number of world’s
cities are launching a variety of local and sub-regional measures to decrease greenhouse
gas emissions. The second category, adaptation policy, seeks to improve societies to deal
with the problems of a changing climate.

Each nation develops methods to fundamentally alter its energy consumption

patterns in favor of less carbon-intensive energy generation, transportation, and land use
management. Many governments have accepted the challenge, and there are several things
people are doing. People save energy, plant trees, promote green energy, recycle more,
make better consumption decisions, and engage in family planning.

3. Discuss what can be done to further strengthen the mechanisms employed by the
government to combat global warming.

The time is ripe for us to act and stop the ticking time bomb catastrophe and such
an event must be taken in a serious manner aiming for the solution without any burden and
obstacles, according to Jenkins (2016) Global warming has never been a prominent concern
in most political systems, as characterized by what we see here in the Philippines, most
projects are intended for infrastructures and economic development and few are related to
the concern issue. Though industrialization helps the economic development of the society
in stable condition, rest assured that the officials needed to manage critically and precisely
for obtaining natural resources rich in many biomes. Protecting and restoring the ecosystem
must be done by the leaders in each region of the country for the reason that trees have the
greatest factor when it comes to turning the tables around on the said issue, ensuring the
existence of trees, and establishing more policies for the protection of ecological
communities.

As the population size graph continues to rise and accelerate at a higher rate, people
tend to consume way more energy. Data shows in the Research Features, that energy
consumption climbed by 43.6 % for every 20% increase in population size, which results
in burning more fuel for power and causing direct emissions. There is a solution for keeping
in demand a towering record of the population without emitting more carbon dioxide into
the atmosphere, which is investing in renewable energy sources such as geothermal and
hydroelectric infrastructure. The technological development caused by globalization
supports the high demand at a lower cost for economical progression and sustainability.

Several studies stated that global warming is happening right now and such a case
must be prevented in fast action for the world is running out of time as each year passes
the global temperature continues to increase at a rapid acceleration. The conflict between
countries hinders the shared goal, of tackling global warming, eroding the trust of the
nations which slows the building of foundation to fight increasing temperature instead of
giving the spotlight to political issues rather than global concerns which all of us reside in.
Statements above do not imply there is no progress present and policy conducted but
numerous studies illustrate skyrocketing graphs of global temperature still at a high rate
which theoretically signifies the slow adaptation of establishing strategies abiding the
global issue though instead, balancing the economy and protecting the environment must
be insinuated, not just in the country of the Philippines but also the countries beyond the
vast oceans because here in the Philippines are also crying for actions against many deceit
corporations for causing havoc in ecosphere as well as producing more greenhouse gasses
in many industries and even though we are still among countries in the developing phase,
engaging in global activity is essential for the betterment of the country to maintain the
stabilization of the economy as well as preserving the ecosystem to construct a downward
slope in the escalating temperature of the world.
