so, what were these challenges? Did you find some of the tools/questions easy to answer? Why was this so?
2. Upon knowing your classmates’ responses and scores, what were the points where you were alike? How did this
make you feel about your own profile? Were there interesting differences? How did this make you feel? What did you
realize while hearing your classmates share their scores?
3. What areas do you think you need improvement? How do you think you will go about improving them? Give
concrete examples.
4. What realizations do you have after seeing the whole picture based on the different areas where you were assessed?

important career decisions as adolescents (EsP-PD11/12IOPD-IIi14.1)
Reading: YOUR PERSONAL MISSION STATEMENT: YOU’RE NEVER
TOO YOUNG TO CLARIFY YOUR LIFE GOALS AND ASPIRATIONS
What is your life's purpose? It's a difficult question to answer, but it's vital. You may talk about your
dreams and goals all day but writing them down makes them seem more genuine. It's a place to start if you
want to live the life you want. When you compose a personal mission statement, you're defining what you
want to achieve and how you're going to do it, as well as committing to it. Businesses and nonprofit
organizations develop mission statements for the same reason.
What is a personal mission statement?
Most students and adults are unaware of the significance of crafting personal mission statements. It's
not simply about your objectives. Your mission statement will assist you in determining your priorities and
the way you wish to spend your life. It may include short-term and long-term goals, or life-long aspirations.
It becomes a guide and provides direction, which comes from you, not someone else.
There is no right or incorrect method to write your personal mission statement or what should be
included in it. It will be unique to everyone. What matters is that you write it down. Topics for your personal
mission statement may include:
 Education
 Career
 Personal attributes, such as honesty, loyalty and dedication
 Family and personal relationships

How to write personal mission statement

A simple template to follow when crafting your personal mission statement is by combining the following
elements:
“I will /action/ for /audience/ by /skills/ to /desired result/.”
For example: I will make, challenge, and change the law for communities with barriers to preserve their
right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Personal mission statement examples

Here are several examples of personal mission statements to help inspire you as you write your own.
1. “I will make, challenge and change the law for communities with barriers to preserve their right to life, liberty and
the pursuit of happiness.”
2. "To use my writing skills to inspire and educate others around the world to make change."
3. "To use my gifts as a speaker to improve the self-worth of people around the world."
4. "To inspire children to be more than they thought they could be."
5.” "To serve as a leader by encouraging innovative ideas and forward-thinking so that our team can create technology
solutions that will improve the lives of others."

What is a personal mission statement?

According to Indeed Editorial Team (2021).” A personal mission statement is a statement that defines your
values, who you are on how you define success. A personal mission statement can be used to guide your
decisions and help you stay focused to meet your long-term goals. A personal mission statement creates
boundaries that make decision-making easier, as it's easier to see whether your decisions align with your
long-term goals.”
A personal mission statement is significant because it can serve as a guideline for determining how
you spend your time, connect with others, and perform your job. Making decisions about what to do with
your time is just as important as making decisions about what not to do with your time.
Activity 4: Personal mission statement

What is a personal mission statement? Write it down on a single page of the paper.
