Reading: YOUR PERSONAL MISSION STATEMENT: YOU’RE NEVER
TOO YOUNG TO CLARIFY YOUR LIFE GOALS AND ASPIRATIONS
What is your life's purpose? It's a difficult question to answer, but it's vital. You may talk about your
dreams and goals all day but writing them down makes them seem more genuine. It's a place to start if you
want to live the life you want. When you compose a personal mission statement, you're defining what you
want to achieve and how you're going to do it, as well as committing to it. Businesses and nonprofit
organizations develop mission statements for the same reason.
What is a personal mission statement?
Most students and adults are unaware of the significance of crafting personal mission statements. It's
not simply about your objectives. Your mission statement will assist you in determining your priorities and
the way you wish to spend your life. It may include short-term and long-term goals, or life-long aspirations.
It becomes a guide and provides direction, which comes from you, not someone else.
There is no right or incorrect method to write your personal mission statement or what should be
included in it. It will be unique to everyone. What matters is that you write it down. Topics for your personal
mission statement may include:
Education
Career
Personal attributes, such as honesty, loyalty and dedication
Family and personal relationships

Here are several examples of personal mission statements to help inspire you as you write your own.
1. “I will make, challenge and change the law for communities with barriers to preserve their right to life, liberty and
the pursuit of happiness.”
2. "To use my writing skills to inspire and educate others around the world to make change."
3. "To use my gifts as a speaker to improve the self-worth of people around the world."
4. "To inspire children to be more than they thought they could be."
5.” "To serve as a leader by encouraging innovative ideas and forward-thinking so that our team can create technology
solutions that will improve the lives of others."
