INTRODUCTION

Literature can be interpreted in varied ways. This module covers strategies to interpret
literary texts for children through creative models of expression – visual arts, drama and play,
and creative writing – and seen these flesh out and develop literacies in learners.

 Interpreting literature through visual arts looks into cultivating creativity and innovation.

 Drama and plays pave the way for children to express themselves

 Creative writing provides students with a variety of vantage points to examine and
interpret a text.

In this module, you find how the meaning and significance of a literary text can find
different expressions of meaning

 assess the significance of various research-based perspectives on visual arts, drama


and play, and creative writing

 reconstruct the role of a literary text, resources and strategies in promoting literacies
through the three creative modes of expression

 develop learning materials that add value to the study of a literary text.
