Board games have long been used as entertainment for all people on different
occasions and situations. There are a lot of board games out there and chess is one of
the most famous board games played in different countries. According to Wikipedia,
Chess is a two-player strategy board game played on a chessboard with 64 squares
arranged in an 8×8 grid where each player will begin with 16 pieces: one king, one
queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns. To win, you must capture
the opponent`s King by moving each piece at every turn of your move. You have to be
resourceful with your moves and use them wisely in planning to trap the opponent`s
king in which it will be hard for its king to escape. Use your visions to build strategic
planning on capturing your opponents` King or others. There are some instances that
the game ends in a draw and sometimes you can win when the opponent voluntarily
quits. But playing chess is very beneficial to many people, especially teenagers or
adults.
According to Laimonas, playing chess results in better brain function, improved
memory and cognitive abilities, strategic thinking, and attention improvement. Playing
chess improves brain function because the player uses his or her brain`s left
hemisphere which deals with the recognition of objects, and right hemisphere which
deals with the recognition of patterns. Playing chess improves memory by adopting the
strategies and tactics used for a good gaming experience. Playing chess also improves
cognitive abilities such as perception, visual and partial processing, motor language,
and executive functions. Playing chess also improves our strategic thinking for we know
that chess is a strategy board game, strategy thinking will be developed as long as you
play and are willing to learn because no one is born with the skills of strategic thinking.
When you know the opponent`s, the move took advantage of you and made the game
critical, of course, you`ll think wisely of one move that might change the game, and this
is also where your creativity will be challenged and developed. There are a lot of things
that playing chess thought me in my life. Life is like a game of chess because it
depends on you where you put yourself on your next move. Sometimes you need to
lose your queen enable to win the game, as in the real world, sometimes you need to
risk one of your most important things to succeed. Another thing that I learned is chess
is like a family, a family that works together for a particular goal. There is a father who is
the king that commands his kingdom. A mother who is the queen helps the king to
depend on and counter the enemies. The elder brothers are the bishops that obey the
king and help the queen and guide the younger children of the family. But before the
kings come there is a great person who tells the king what to do. He is the player. In
real life, he is the God who is the true king of our life.
I, therefore, conclude you do not need to be smart to play chess. You just need
to be wise about your next moves and utilize them well. And there is always a person
behind the game who is a great player. We just need to think before we put ourselves in
color because everything is touch and move.
Don’t Pity your self
Some people may feel pity for someone who is homeless, hungry or in a difficult
situation. The emotion of pity is different than sympathy, which is when someone feels
sorry for another person but doesn't necessarily take action to help them. People often
feel pity for someone when they are going through a difficult time in their life such as
recovering from an illness or losing a loved one. They hope that the person will learn
from their experience and become a better and happier person in the future. Many
people who experience difficult life situations can feel alone and hopeless. When they
hear stories about people overcoming adversity and going on to live happy and fulfilling
lives, it can give them hope and inspiration. But pity to you self is quite harmful.
Therefore I realize that I’m just a self pity person. A person that appeared to be needy to
helped by others. Thinking that I deserve admiration and attention, not knowing that I
actually using this people for my own good.
