CHAPTER 3

Research Methodology

This chapter describes the research techniques the researcher will use to carry out the

study, including the research locale, research design, research instrument, data collection

techniques, and data analysis.

3.1.Research Locale

This research will be conducted on the premises of Bayugan National Comprehensive

High School. Bayugan National Comprehensive High School is one of the well-known public

school in the City of Bayugan, in the Province of Agusan del Sur, and has a population of around

6,000 students.
3.2.Research Design

The research design used in this study is Descriptive-Correlational since this study

correlates the nutritional issues of street foods and consumption behavior towards the students

of Bayugan National Comprehensive High School .

3.3.Research Participants

The participants that will be given the research instrument are the grade 12 students of

Bayugan National Comprehensive High School. Then, the participants per section will be chosen

randomly. The chosen participants will represent the whole population of this study.

3.4Sampling Design
As to the sampling technique, the researchers will utilize a simple-random sampling

method. Since the participants will be randomly chosen as per accessibility and availability. Use

simple random as it gives the best chance for the participants that are at the time available

(expound)

3.5.Research Instrument

In this study the researchers will be using the questionnaire.The questionnaire is a set of

orderly arranged carefully prepared to answer by a group of people designed to collect facts and

information. The first part of the questionnaire is about street foods nutritional issues and

consumption behavior. The second part is the question to be answered by the respondents. The

researchers used Likert Scale Method in the survey questionnaires to specify the level of

agreement of the respondent to the statement.

3.6.Data Gathering Procedure

A letter will be sent to the principal office and senior high school head office for the

conducting of this research.Also the researcher will sent a parent consent to the parents of a

targeted participants for the conducting of this study.Thenceforth, the modified questionnaire

will be administered to the participants to answer the given questionnaires. Afterward, the

questionnaires will be retrieved from the participants per section , and the data will be tabulated

and analyzed for data analysis.


3.7.Data Analysis

Descriptive Analysis

Mean will be used to determine the nutritional issues of the street foods and consumption

behavior towards the students.

Inferential Statistics

Correlation analysis will be used to determine the significant relationship between the street

food: nutritional issues and consumption behavior to the students of Bayugan National

Comprehensive High School, Bayugan City.
