RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Reflecting on Attitudes Towards Individuals with Disabilities and Community Fall 2019- March 2020
▪ Conducted qualitative research with Dr. Ellen Sigler that reflects on attitudes and stereotypes
surrounding individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities
▪ Using NVIVO qualitative analysis software, Dr. Sigler and I were able to find qualitative research that
reflects on the perspectives of undergraduate students towards individuals with I/DD before and after
taking a related course where students engage with individuals with I/DD and reflect on their
experiences.
▪ Research was accepted to be presented at the Southeastern Psychological Association Conference in
New Orleans in April 2020.

integration and a better quality of life for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
▪ Reviewed literature surrounding the benefits of art therapy on self-esteem, self-expression, and
self-efficacy among individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and
▪ Created a comprehensive document to support LIFESPAN’s mission to open an assisted learning
community for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
