    PROGRAMMING & ASSESSMENT EXPERIENCE

    “DON’T DIS MY ABILITY” PROGRAM COORDINATOR Cullowhee, NC


    Western Carolina University September 2022- November 2022
    ▪ Collaborated with the Office of Accessibility Resources (OAR) and Disabled Students United (DSU)
    to promote “Don’t DIS my ABILITY”, a program designed to promote advocacy and awareness for
    individuals with disabilities and varying abilities on campus.
    ▪ Developed an outcomes based assessment report to assess if learning objectives and outcomes were
    met within resource fair and panel discussion components of Don’t DIS my ABILITY; collaborated
    with Janina DeHart in OAR on the improvements that could be made to future programming.

    RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

    Burnout in College Students Fall 2021-December 2021


    ▪ This study investigated factors related to the onset of COVID-19 pandemic, such as increased
    transition to online learning formats, that may have contributed to academic burnout in college
    students.

    Shalom Fall 2020-May 2021


    ▪ Collaborated with Dr. Ellen Sigler along with the board of directors at LifeSpan, a Nonprofit
    organization, and researchers at Wingate University in Charlotte, NC to produce a proposal for
    funding towards an aging in place community for individuals who are senior and have intellectual and
    developmental disabilities
    ▪ Collaborated with Dr. Sigler weekly to plan, execute, and present a comprehensive literature review of
    qualitative and quantitative research to LifeSpan, that promotes the need for an Aging-in-Place
    community within NC.

    Psychological Responses to Profanity Fall 2019-May 2021


    ▪ Planned and developed research alongside Professor W. David Scales that quantitatively observed
    psychological responses to profanity that use programs such as Qualtrics and SPSS.
    ▪ Research now includes the support of undergraduate students who are in the process of continuing
    research.

    Reflecting on Attitudes Towards Individuals with Disabilities and Community Fall 2019- March 2020
    ▪ Conducted qualitative research with Dr. Ellen Sigler that reflects on attitudes and stereotypes
    surrounding individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities
    ▪ Using NVIVO qualitative analysis software, Dr. Sigler and I were able to find qualitative research that
    reflects on the perspectives of undergraduate students towards individuals with I/DD before and after
    taking a related course where students engage with individuals with I/DD and reflect on their
    experiences.
    ▪ Research was accepted to be presented at the Southeastern Psychological Association Conference in
    New Orleans in April 2020.

    Lifespan Collaborative Survey Project Fall 2019


    ▪ Collaborated with a small group of students and Dr. Sigler to create an assessment for staff, guardians,
    and the individuals themselves to be used by Lifespan as part of their strategic planning process.
