According to the Wikipedia, Social Sciences are a group of academic disciplines that focus on
how individuals behave within society. Some social science majors include anthropology,
psychology, political science, and economics.
But basically, the way I understand, Social Sciences give us a better understanding of how to
create more inclusive and effective institutions. It studies how people interact with each other,
behave, develop as a culture, and influence the world. The activities of the physical and social
environment, human relations or the scientific study of human society are being explored to
help us gain knowledge of the society we live in.
Further, social sciences help to explain how society works, exploring everything from the
triggers of economic growth and causes of unemployment to what makes people happy. This
information is vital and can be used for many purposes. Among other things, it helps to shape
corporate strategies and government policies.
In conclusion, the study of social science is more than just a subject that we need to pass in our
college life. It is important to learn about its concepts for us to become a better human being
with the goal of developing a good society to live.
