Planning
Planning. The most essential part of making an organisation successful.
Only planning drives one constantly towards achieving their
organisational goals in a planned manner. In our proposed healthcare
app we have divided our plans into three parts which will make it easier
to adjust our actions according to the situation encountered in a precise
manner. They are,
 Short term plans: These plans are for the near foreseeable future
like a week or two starting from today. As our company’s main
focus would be organising the healthcare sector, this would require
us to reach more and more people starting from day 1. More user
base would mean an automatic and properly functioning healthcare
system in a huge country like ours. This can be achieved by
initially making the app free and spend a lot on advertising. Since
the app is focused on healthcare, we can keep the profits on a scale
of minimum. This could be achieved by having a talented
marketing and strategic team which will be hired by our staffing
parallel.
1. First step would be making a smooth user-friendly app with
vernacular language support which will give the app extended
reach in a country with various different languages at a state-
level like ours, also make it available on android, ios and
website so that we can increase accessibility of our business
which is the most essential for its growth.
2. We have to start convincing government established hospitals
starting from a municipal level regarding the availability of
doctors, beds and services required by the patient at a certain
hour based on their need which will reduce the time required
to search for the hospital which can be crucial in cases of
immediate assistance and can rule out cases of
miscommunication by word of mouth.
3. Another team of employees will be hired and deployed by
staffing for adding in smaller speciality clinics and multi-bed
hospitals for bed availability and doctor data which can help
patient have a wider variety of choices for his/her consultation
and treatment and can choose these options for multiple other
reasons.
4. This marketing spread will also be spread to various
diagnostic firms cause general diagnostics are the early and
can actually confirm our health issues in an accurate manner.
5. Next we can extend our service to act like a storage of
medical data of the patient which would act something like a
“Digi-locker for medical purposes”. This will enable the
patient to easily share his/her past medical history and
diagnostic data to the doctor with ease for analysis in an
organised and proper manner.
6. Next we can use the service as a channel for the doctor to
upload his/her prescriptions and treatment for the patient in
the app itself which will ensure proper conveying of his words
and the prescription will be integrated with E-pharma services
for immediate purchase and delivery of medicines to the
patient.
 Mid-term plans: These plans can hugely vary depending on the
outcomes of our short-term plans. This requires us to keep the
plans more general so that they can be adjusted regarding the
circumstances. But to have a general approach we would like to
expand the company into more health-related sectors which I’ll
name below with the regarding enhancement in the field
1. Insurance: I agree the healthcare services provided
in our country and very inexpensive compared to
some other leading developing or developed
countries in the field of medicine in general. But our
per-capita income is still not enough for an average
patient to cover the cost of his or her treatment. This
would require us to reach to larger number of public
to get insured. The current percentage of health
insured citizens is less than 25 percent in India.
Using our prebuilt trust with regarding to providing
hospital info we can get more people health insured
by listing affordable insurance options
implementing the usage of UPI and local language
support which will reduce most of the issues India is
facing in the field of healthcare which will
according to me be finance.
2. Pharma: There is a huge problem in India with
corporate pharmaceutical players leading the
markets instead of the general pharmacies our
government has approved to establish. This is due to
the lack of trust which was a result of in-availability
of medicine and medicines being prone to getting
counterfeited which proved to be fatal because of
the corruption in the government managed sector.
We cannot reform that sector immediately but we
can take a step towards its proper functioning by
listing those Aloepathic solutions to the general
public since affordability of medicines is a huge
issue in our country. Listing this options online by
creating an E-Commerce website for them would
not only increase their sales but also help us grow a
more regulated and easy to purchase healthcare
market with the provided insurance and government
schemes.
 Intermittent plans: Our intermittent plans would be till the time we
get to establishing a home grown pharmaceutical e-commerce with
general public products, we can enlist the current pharmaceutical
players like apollo, netmeds, etc on our app for the purchase of
medicines directly by recognising the prescriptions uploaded by
doctors on our app.
 Long-Term plans: The long term plan of the organisation would be
mainly aligning with the vision of the organisation: which would
broadly be stated as the accessibility of healthcare at the extent of
your fingertips. This would be achieved by making our service
available and in the hands of every citizen of the nation. Once we
are able to scale down this peak we can start focusing on
implementing this model in fellow developing nations, because
health is never in an individual sense. This will aid in very huge
and deserved growth of the company which is actually based off a
very noble cause. Never loosing the customers trust would be
another one of our long term goals because losing a customer
would immediately point towards the ill or poor functioning of any
one branch or parallel which can affect other branches which leads
to an effective loss in the market among the public whom this
organisation is aimed to serve at.
Chapter 3: Organizing different resources
A. The different resources required to develop a medical health care app are:
Financial resources: Funding is needed to pay for the development and maintenance of the app, as well as
any necessary hardware or infrastructure. Developing a healthcare app can be costly, and funding is required
to cover the costs of development, ongoing maintenance, and marketing.
A team of developers: The team should have experience in developing healthcare apps, as well as
knowledge of relevant programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Swift, React Native, etc.
Data resource: The app should be able to integrate with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and
other healthcare data sources, such as lab results and prescription information. This may require obtaining
permission from hospitals or other healthcare providers to access their data.
Understanding of regulations and compliance: Healthcare apps are subject to a number of regulations,
such as CDSCO(Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation) in India, to protect patient privacy and
ensure data security. The app developer should be aware of these regulations and design the app
accordingly.
Design team: A good user interface is important for the app to be easy to use and navigate. A design team
should create a visually appealing design and user-friendly interface that meets the needs of the target users.
Project manager: A project manager is responsible for coordinating the development process, ensuring that
deadlines are met and that the app is delivered on time and within budget.
Marketing and promotion: The app should be marketed and promoted to raise awareness among potential
users, such as healthcare providers and patients.
Plan for updating and incorporating user feedback: The app should be regularly updated to fix any bugs
and incorporate user feedback to improve the app's functionality and usability

B. Organising different departments:

The different departments in our company are:
1. Technical Department
2. Data collection department
3. Marketing department
4. Financial department
CEO

COO CFO CMedO CMO

CTO CDO

CEO: The Chief Executive Officer is the top-level position in the organization and is responsible for overall
strategy, decision-making, and the management of the entire organization.
CTO: The Chief Technology Officer is the top level position in Technological department and this
department responsible for the development, maintenance, and operation of the app's technical systems and
infrastructure. They may also be responsible for managing the development department and ensuring that
the app is up-to-date with the latest technologies.
COO: The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the app, such
as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and ensuring that the app is running smoothly. They
may also be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
CMO: The Chief Marketing Officer is responsible for promoting the app and increasing its visibility. They
may also be responsible for managing the marketing department, analyzing user data, and developing
marketing campaigns.
CFO: The Chief Financial Officer is the top most position of Financial Department and under it comes the
managing of the app's financial operations, such as budgeting, accounting, and financial planning. They may
also be responsible for developing revenue streams and identifying new opportunities.
CDO: The Chief Data Officer is the head of data collection department and is responsible for analysing
data collected from the app, such as usage statistics, user feedback, and health metrics. They may use this
data to improve the app's performance and make recommendations for future development.
CMedO: The Chief Medical Officer is responsible for providing medical advice and information to users.
They may review and approve health-related content for the app, and work with healthcare providers to
ensure that the app provides accurate and up-to-date information.

C. Revenue model:
Although the main purpose of our app is to providing easy access to health care facilities to society and not
to earn money and make profits but it is at the same time difficult to run a business without any capital. Thus
here are few revenue models:
In-app purchases: Users can purchase additional features or services within the app. For example, users
may be able to purchase additional storage for their health records, or pay for extra telemedicine
consultations.
Advertising: The app can display ads to users and earn revenue through impressions or clicks. This can
include targeted ads for health-related products or services.
Referral and affiliate programs: The app can earn revenue by referring users to other products or services.
For example, the app can refer users to a pharmacy or a lab testing service, and earn a commission for each
referral.
Telemedicine: The app can offer virtual consultations with healthcare professionals and charge for the
service. This can include video consultations with doctors or other healthcare providers, and can be a great
way to generate revenue for the app.
Sponsorship: The app can partner with pharmaceutical companies or other businesses to display their
products or services to users. For example, the app can display sponsored content from a pharmaceutical
company, or include a sponsored section in the app that promotes a specific product or service.
Billing and claims management: The app can help users submit claims and bill insurance providers,
earning a fee for the service. This can include helping users fill out forms, submit claims, and track the status
of their claims.

D. Different features in app:

Availability of beds: we can link the hospitals and recommend the user on the basis of bed availability.
Users can access the no of beds available in the hospital.
Emergency switch:- an SOS switch which would be used in the time of accident or emergency when
clicked would directly contact the nearest hospital and ambulance to the location of the device.
Personalized health information: Users can access their personal health information, such as medical
history, allergies, and medications, within the app.
Appointment scheduling: Users can directly schedule appointments with healthcare providers, such as
doctors or specialists, through the app.
Telemedicine: Users can access virtual consultations with healthcare providers, such as video consultations
with doctors or other healthcare providers.
Prescription refills: Users can request prescription refills directly from the app and have them delivered to
their preferred location.
Lab results: Users can view their lab results directly within the app, and have the ability to share it with
their healthcare providers.
Medication reminders: Users can set reminders for when to take their medications, and receive
notifications on the app.
Billing and claims management: Users can submit claims and bill insurance providers, and track the status
of their claims, directly within the app.
Secure messaging: Users can communicate with their healthcare providers securely through the app, such
as sending and receiving messages, images or videos.
Emergency Services: Users can access emergency services through the app, such as calling emergency
services or finding the nearest emergency room.
Integration with wearables: Users can connect their wearables, such as fitness trackers or smartwatches, to
the app to track and monitor their health data.
Staffing
Staffing: One of the most important wings for an organisation to
function smoothly. The main agenda of a good staffing department
should be something like this,
 Hiring efficient staff.
 Should not go for lower pay-checks but look for value for money
in budget.
 Should recruit staff in a sufficient number to ensure that there is no
overload of work on a person or an immediate effect if someone
decides to leave due to unforeseen reasons.
 Staff should be highly creative and have a more scholastic
approach towards solutions rather than just having bookish
knowledge.
 Staff should aid in achieving the company’s goal to a certain extent
rather than focusing on their work for a development in their
personal life.
 According to me “A group of highly performing individuals can
always be beaten by a group of well coordinated individuals” so
choose a team who work well together.
 Another important point to be noted would be individuals with a
thirst to thrive would always be beneficial towards the success of a
venture.
These above mentioned points if kept in mind while staffing for our
business idea, would lead to a smoothly functioning company on the
road to the betterment of lives and the company’s success.
Keeping the above points in mind I would like to recruit staff for our
healthcare business in the following manner:
 Technical Division: Since the business is primarily based of an app
and requires digitisation of the current healthcare scene of India, a
talented and sharp tech team is necessary to ensure smooth
functioning of the business. I would like to divide the technical
division into two parts,
1. App management: This team would consist of a collection of
software developers well experienced with the field of app
development with android/ios. A well functioning and a good
looking app with minor bugs and an easy to use model would
always work better in the market as ease of use is always the
key to extended usage.
2. Database Management: This particular team will handle the
huge amounts of data from the patients who start using this
app. Having a well- maintained secure database ensures
collection and organisation of all the required data at one
place and the safety of all the important medical data which
can be misused in the wrong hands.
3. Cybersecurity: Patient medical data can always be used for
false purposes so a cybersecurity team to prevent the app from
external hacking threats will be essential.
4. Testing: Since the app is lively associated with an important
life saving aspect it cannot be rolled out into the market
without being properly stress tested. This will require a team
of proper stress testers who put the app’s use to its fullest
limits and can approve its release and further realising
updates.
 Marketing Division: A healthcare service’s main aim should be to
reach the masses. This can only be achieved if you have a creative
marketing team which can help flourish the growth of the ideology
that the organisation is aiming to achieve. Without users or
hospitals support there is no way this service is going to work,
1. Advertising: This team’s main aim is to position this product
in the market. This will require them to be creative and have a
holistic approach and idea about the scene of healthcare
around us so knowledgeable and experienced professionals
would be preferred.
2. Outreach; This team’s goal would be contacting hospitals and
NGO’s regarding our product and how its beneficial to both to
them as well as the public. This will require a polite and well
agreed mindset as the most required skillsets.
 Strategic Team: Even though most of the high level planning is
done by the executives at the organisation improper
implementation and distribution of their plan among the correct
staff can lead to a huge disaster in the form of mismanagement of
the organisation. This brings up the requirement of a team of
strategic partners and employees who help envision our plans in a
more efficient manner and help us bring them to action smoothly.
The preferred skillsets for this parallel would be highly assertive,
smart, critically thinking individuals cause they have to be able to
handle the organisation in the worst of situations and not break
under pressure or face any panic as such.
 Insurance Team: Since one of our main mid/long term goal would
be ensuring that every citizen of the country is insured, this will
require a team of experts who devise well priced and planned
insurances according to the needs of the customer. The next step
would be hiring skilled agents in the field of insurance sales to help
these plans reach the masses which will in turn provide the best
required benefits at the time of intense need. These necessities if
fulfilled will provide a strong foundation for the fulfilment of the
organisation’s mission.
 Finance Team: An organisation is never complete without proper
management of finance. Since Insurance, E-commerce, and
appointment bookings are areas of huge cash-flow a well managing
finance team is required to handle huge amounts of money which
our customers put in the organisation entrusting us.
 Customer Operations: Analysing customer reviews is the
foundation of greater customer acquisition. So we are required to
setup a team of call service agents instead of outsourcing because
we handle sensitive information. This will act as our medium to
collect customer feedback regarding the operations of our service
which will lead us directly to understanding what changes or
further updates or services are required to be instated by the
organisation.
 Human Resource: Last but not the least, we need a good selective
HR team to staff the required departments and look after all the
employee benefits and privileges, their own medical insurance
coverage, managing their leaves and maintaining a sense of well-
functioning stuff with a combined fraternity among each other and
with the organisation as well.
CHAPTER 6: DIRECTING THE EMPLOYEES
MAXIMUM INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTION

a) The organisation’s management will make it a priority to show

outward respect for employees on a regular basis, which will lead
to a strong and enduring workplace culture.
b) We will try to ensure that the rewards we give to our employees
would speak to their emotional needs and would go beyond their
monetary compensation. There is no bigger reward than saving a
life in an emergency situation.
c) We will try to tie a part of our employee’s wages to the company’s
performance.

HARMONY OF OBJECTIVES
a) We will be transparent about organizations’ objectives & vision
with every level.
b) Communication  Ask employees what their goals are, and create
actionable plans.
c) Since, every individual of the employee relates with the problem
that we are trying to solve, so it will be easier for us to achieve the
harmony of objectives. First, we will ensure that whether the
organizational objectives are met or not. At the same time, we will
help employees to achieve their goals by providing personal
development opportunities.

UNITY OF COMMAND

a) We will try to ensure that each sub-ordinate gets instructions from

only one superior. Also, we will ensure that the coordination
between different superiors at the same level is maximum.

USE OF INFORMAL ORGANISATION

a) XYZ tries its best to eliminate hassles for its employees. There
would be proper channels for everything. Have a question about
your latest payslip? Mail an email alias and get your concern
addressed in 24 hours or less. Need to get some expenses
reimbursed? Go to an internal portal and fill out a form and
done. The employees don’t have to jump through the hoops to
get things done.

Since our company is an app-based company, it is very important to

have a well-designed app with all the features the organisation wants.
So, we hire a technical team which design a fully functioning app the
way the company wants.
We direct the team to design all the required features. We ask them to
create a very user-friendly app, so that no user is going to have any
problem in using the app. The tech team is also asked to make the app
interactive and fast. The app is scheduled to complete within 4 months
of time.

One of the most important feature of the app is the bed count in
hospitals around us. Many people suffered due to lack of beds in
pandemic times. It displays the number of beds in the app itself so that
the user can directly reach the hospital where there are beds without
wasting time. The first target for this feature would definitely be
government hospitals. The organisation makes number of groups to
discuss this idea with the governments of different cities that we are
going to operate in. The groups formed would contain important people
of the company and also great speakers. After convincing the respective
governments we get access to the database of the number of beds in
each hospital, the organisations next target would be the small clinics in
the city. We would assign some agents directed to convince the local
clinics. Since this process is being done after the government is
convinced, it would ease the process of convincing the local small
clinics. The last target would be private hospitals. Depending on the
range of the private hospitals we would make a group of important
people of the organisation to directed to convince the authorities of the
private hospitals. After this, as mentioned earlier there would be a
feature to store the data of the bed count in the app. So, we will direct
our technical staff to teach the staff of hospitals on uploading data in
real time. Real time monitoring is very important since things are very
uncertain. The organisation assigns a database team directed to monitor
the bed count in the hospitals.

Now once the app is designed and the authorities are satisfied, we start
promotions of the app through various ways. We hire a marketing team
to complete this task. The marketing team is directed to make creative
and thought-provoking advertisements, so that the app is eye-catching to
the people who watch the advertisements. This would lead the app to
reach large amount of people. After reaching a considerable amount of
people with the first advertisement, the marketing team is asked to pull
in a celebrity for the next advertisement which would double the impact
of the app on the viewers minds. According to the budget of the
organisation the marketing team is directed to approach certain
celebrities. We can also take help of those celebrities who have done a
lot of social work in the past, since the cause of our app is really
important. For example, in India we can approach someone like Sonu
Sood who gained fame for doing a whole lot of social work in the
pandemic times.

The next feature is the emergency ambulance feature which is very

essential to save lives. The company assigns a control room for each
city that we operate in. When the user presses the emergency button, the
nearest control room will obtain the user’s location and is directed to
send the ambulance of the nearest hospital. The staff of the control room
are directed to work in shifts since there is a need to monitor things
regularly.

The company then assigns a team which is directed to collect data from
the doctors regarding various symptoms of various diseases. Since the
data is collected from expert doctors themselves, the trust on our app
increases. Also, we collect the data of the diet and nutrition that one has
to take before, during and after one has been diagnosed with a particular
disease.
CONTROLLING
The controlling function of management is an important aspect for ensuring the success of the company .
The purpose of controlling is to ensure that the app's performance is in line with the established goals and
objectives, and to take corrective action if necessary. This report will outline the key elements of
controlling including goal setting, performance measurement, and corrective actions and some other
aspects also.
1) Goal setting: It is the first step in the controlling process. Our app will establish clear and measurable
goals and objectives that align with the overall vision and mission of the company. These goals will be
specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. For example, a goal will be to increase the
number of daily active users by 20% within the next six months. We’ve set performance standards for the
app, including targets for user engagement and satisfaction, and bed availability information accuracy. By
setting clear and measurable goals, the app will be able to track its progress and make adjustments as
needed.
2) Performance measurement: We’ll regularly collect and analyse data on the app's performance, including
user engagement, bed availability information accuracy, and financial performance. Our app will establish a
system for measuring its performance against the established goals and objectives. This system will include
both quantitative and qualitative measures. Quantitative measures such as user engagement, revenue, and
customer satisfaction will be tracked using analytical tools. Qualitative measures such as user feedback and
customer testimonials will be gathered through surveys, focus groups, and interviews.
3) Corrective action: Our app will establish a system for taking corrective action if performance falls short
of the established goals and objectives. This system will include a process for identifying the root cause of
the problem, developing a plan of action, and implementing the plan. Based on the performance data.
We’ll identify any issues that arises and work with the project team to develop and implement solutions to
address them. The app will also establish a system for monitoring the progress of the corrective action to
ensure that the problem is resolved and that performance is back on track.
4) Communicating with stakeholders: We’ll regularly communicate with stakeholders, including
government authorities, healthcare providers, and investors, to provide updates on the app's performance
and address any concerns they may have.
5) Implementing quality control: We’ll develops and implements quality control processes to ensure that
the app met the performance standards set, and that the data provided by the app is accurate and up to
date.
6) Compliance: We’ll ensure that the app was in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
regarding medical data privacy.
7) Risk Management: We identified potential risks that could impact the app's performance and worked
with the project team to develop and implement risk management strategies.
8) Continual improvement: The app's performance will be evaluated regularly and will identifying areas for
improvement. Then, We’ll implement changes and updates to the app to improve its performance.
By implementing this system for controlling, Our service will increase its chances of success in a highly
competitive market.

The financial section of every company is one of the crucial sections, it comes
under controlling section.

The Cotrolling section handles the app's financial report:

It involves tracking the app's cash flow, financial planning, analyzing our
companies' financial strengths and weaknesses, and then proposing a strategy to
overcome weakness.
We divided our process into different phases:

phase 1
timely and accurate accounting

1.First, we will gather current accounting reports.

2.We need to ensure that the chart of accounts is consistent with how we want to
manage and monitor operations and investors.
3.Review business and accounting processes to ensure that expenditures and revenues
are accounted for in the right place.
4.We need to capture all expenses on our account report.

Phase 2

Introduce an annual or monthly operating plan for budget

1.At the end of each month, compare the actual budget to the anticipated budget.
Then make a graph of the actual report with the planned report and note the
deviation.
2. The account will be reviewed with accrual and cash at the end of each month.

Phase 3
After reviewing all deviations from actual data, we will shortoutour weakness and
strengths in our financial report.

phase 4
This is the final phase where we will implement the strategy according to our
departure from the previous objective.
Moving forward with strategic finance.
