Recommendations

From the findings of this research, it can be concluded that Sugar and Spice Ltd has an

effective pricing strategy that contribute to sales. To reach the entire target audience and get

maximum profit Sugar and Spice Ltd should consider the following recommendations:

• Allow discounts and promotional pricing, example sales to expand the target market.

• Conduct a survey to find out what other cake customers would prefer them to sell.

• To increase their revenue earnings Sugar and Spice Ltd should consider increasing the

availability of cakes during December and other months.

Recommendations

The data obtained from the research revealed that a crucial factor influencing the high

prices of petrol for taxi operators is the increasing price of oil on the international market. The

findings collected showed that taxi drivers are affected by having less money to spend on food,

healthcare, and face high financial constraints. Suggestions can be made to the government such

as to remove the gas tax and implement price controls. In reference to figure 3, the following

suggestions are highly recommended to keep petrol prices stable:

• Implement price controls by controlling and regulating retailers to keep the price stable and

stop them from hiking prices due to changes in foreign exchange rates.
• Find and research techniques to ensure that the gas prices do not have a large or long-term

effect on the taxi drivers.

• The representatives of the taxi association can engage the government on behalf of its

members in discussions by lobbying their concerns about the increase in gas prices in order

to find an amicable solution (s) or a plan of action of how the issue can be addressed.

Recommendations

In summary of our findings, the two marketing strategies employed by Pastry Passions are

Commercial Marketing strategy, which is the most effective, and Social Media marketing. These

marketing strategies periodically increase the sale of the banana bread and bring existing and

potential customers to the business monthly. To further improve their sales, these are some

suggestions that we recommend they undertake:

● Interact frequently with their social media audiences, specifically Instagram by making

regular engaging post with customers, as social media marketing brought in the least

sales of the two strategies.

● Implement a suggestion box where customers can leave monthly reviews on the banana

bread to improve and satisfy their expectations. This would overtime lead to an increase

in sales.

● Implement other promotional strategies e.g. bundling, which would allow them to pair

the banana bread with another pastry item to increase demand as well as sales.

Recommendations

The findings from our research concluded that most persons heard about the bakery via paid

media advertisements, which is one of the bakery’s two main marketing strategies. In total, the

bakery sold 115,200 patties during the period of September 2020 to January 2021. This figure

reflects the effectiveness of the employed marketing strategies; however, we think that sales

could be improved if management implements the following recommendations:

• Offering loyalty points for each patty sold. This will stimulate the interest of customers

and encourage purchase of the product.

• Use bundling as a means of promoting the sale of patties (offer a patty with another

product sold).

• Have customer appreciation day once per year.

• Involve customers in the decision-making process by asking them for their suggestions

on how the establishment can improve their service, product offerings and target market

in order to stay viable and profitable.

Recommendations

The findings of the research concluded that the two factors that cause unemployment in

Manley Meadows are the Covid 19 pandemic and unavailability of jobs. The data revealed that

the increase in unemployment in the community has resulted in a low standard of living for the

residents. The researchers believe that to reduce unemployment in the community the

government can implement the following:

▪ Providing residents with more educational facilities and intervention programs to increase

their levels of education such as training facilities.

▪ Provide more jobs through skill base training opportunities

▪ Build more educational institution

▪ Improve the “labour market” flexibility

▪ Encourage self-employment to increase small business developments

▪ Collaborate with private sector organizations to implement on the job training or

internship opportunities where persons can learn while on the job thereby providing an

avenue for recruitment.
