FIRMS DUTIES TO THE EMPLOYEE:


Firms success is only as good as the people behind it. This is very true statement, employee of the firms drive business. In the end how ever strong the firm is , it is important to the success of business that firm retain and attract good employees. There are also certain laws within firm state regarding health and safety regulations , employee wages, and hiring and firing. In order to be in compliance with state regulations and rule, it is important that firm is aware of these laws, and follow them y by the book. Employee problems later on can be avoided by going by book. Employees make or break business. Key ingredient to business success is right employee. Employee and employer together make the organization. Employee is like a pillar of the firm and they should be given important amount of attention in order to make firm successful. Employer should make sure that firm is providing good working condition and Employee compensation Right to the point employee enters the firm to the termination of the contract of the employee fir has certain duties towards the employee. Some of the duties of firm towards employee can broadly be categorize are as follow:. a) Health and Safety b) Compensation or Wages c)Job satisfaction . d) Working environment e)duties regarding special employee group f) Growth prospects g) Job Rotation h)duties during termination of employment The basic and minimum moral obligation that the firm has toward employees, is to Provide them with the compensation they have knowingly and freely agreed to receive in exchange for their services. This is minimum requirement that employer had to fallow in accordance with law also. But there are two main issues related to this obligation: The fairness of employee working conditions and The fairness of wages. Both working conditions and wages are part of the compensation employees receive from their services. The terms and condition regarding wages and working condition are usually disclosed during the time of the enrolment itself. But important thing is weather the employee agreed this term and condition knowingly and freely or not. There may be situation where employee accept job with inadequate working condition or inadequate by force or by not knowing about it properly .If this happens then contract is unfair.. Hence firm should make sure that such thing never happen and complete transparency should be created during time of enrolment .

For employee wages is most important thing as it is required to satisfy their and their family basic needs. Where as firm point of view wages is cost of production which they try to keep it down. Hence there is always big dilemma in setting up a fair wages. To set a balance between firm interests to reduce the cost and employee interest in receiving expected salary in order to take care of their family is very important. There is no simple solution for it .Firm should realize which job deserve how much wages and allocate it fairly. Usually ongoing salary trends in the area and the industry is taken as benchmark. But firm should make sure that job having higher risk need to be compensated well. Another one of the most important parts that employer most consider is area of health protection and work safety. Firm should consider following points regarding health issues: Firm should make sure that it provide safe working conditions and working environment free of health hazards . Firm should be proactive enough to identify potential hazards that may be threatening to employee health .Best thing to do is to find out root cause of the hazards and try to remove it . It should provide employees with personal protective wear and beverages . Ensuring medical services of a physician who will work under a contract and provide the employees with preventative care is very good idea . Beside this when time comes ,firm should give Special duties regarding certain employee groups. There be many situation in which certain employee have to be considered specially. If modification of their working condition is required to protect them then it should be done without even giving a second thought. This is applicable for employee like breastfeeding mothers and pregnant mother. There existing position may not be good for pregnant mother hence their certain should be transferred to other people. Where as breast feeding mother should be given paid feeding break. Certain employee who is taking care of their children should not be given surprise business visit. They should be informed beforehand so that they can prepare accordingly. It is always good for firm to take care of their employee and their family this will make employee feel at home and they will work more efficiently . Finally firm should not terminate any employee harshly .Certain rule have to be fallowed. Firms duties upon termination of an employment contract that should be fallowed is: Firm should trminate the contract of employment in cases stipulated by law. Instantaneous cancellation of employment should be discuss in trade union office. Firm should always give sufficient amount of time to employee to look for other job before terminating his job. If unused vacation are left then that should be considered during termination. Its duty of the firm to provide reference letter to the employee if agrees to leave the firm and join other. This reference letter should reflect employee true characteristic.

From above points it clear that firms has duties towards employee right from they enroll them to the termination of contract .This duties should be fulfill by firm .This will create greater working environment for the firm and will help both firm and employee to grow together .
