LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE 2

I. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: 

At the end of class discussion, the pupils should be able to:


a. Name the five senses.
b. Explain the function of the five senses.
c. Appreciate the importance of the five senses of the body.

Introduction: T will prepare a lesson before starting a class.


L will lead an opening prayer.
T will check the attendance.

Review T will review the L about the lessons that they tackled
yesterday by asking the following questions.

1. What are the main parts of the body?


2. Give one main part of the body and its function.
3. What are the external parts of the body?

Motivation   T will say: “Since I can see that all of you are ready for
today’s class before we start; we will sing a song called
''Five Senses”. 
 
               Who among you are familiar with this song? 
Everybody, please listen to me first as I sing a song, after
that we will sing it together.

I have my eyes to see
My ears to hear
I have my nose to smell
My mouth to taste and my hands to touch. 
(Repeat Twice)

T will ask the following questions.


a. How many senses do we have?
b. Which of the senses would you use to listen to
music?
c. What can you do with your hands?

Lesson Proper T will say: “Today, we are going to learn about the Five
Senses.

Introduction 
            
We have five sense, namely: sight, hearing, smell, taste,
and touch. The five sense organs has a different function.
The eyes are for seeing, the ears are for hearing, the nose
is for smelling, the tongue is for tasting, and the skin is for
feeling.

 We use our eyes to see objects around us. We can tell


the size, color and shape of the thing.
 We use our ears to hear sounds around us. We can tell
whether the sound is loud or soft.
 We use our nose to smell odor. We can tell if it is bad
or good odor.
 We use our tongue to taste food. We can tell if the
food is sweet, sour, bitter and salty.
 We use our skin to feel and touch. We can say
whether it is hot or cold.
 It is important to know how to protect our sense
organs.

Guided T will give a box with different printed objects inside.  Box

Differentiated T will give flashcards of five senses to the L to think about
Instruction the importance of five senses. Then, L will find a pair to
discuss and compare their ideas together and they will
share their findings and results in the front of the
classroom.

Sensory Walk

T will tell L to take a walk inside the classroom. They are


going to pay very close attention to what they see hear,
smell and touch. T will ask S about the information did
they get from senses inside the classroom. S will draw a
picture of one they have visited on the walk. Think of a
way to show the sounds they heard. If they sense the
smell noticed something, how can they show that? When
they are finished, share their drawings with a classmate.

Cards
T will group the class into two.
T will show the tree chart.
L will identify the sense organs use in the following things
by getting the word cards and put it in the appropriate
branch of a tree chart.

Every group representative will come in front and put the


appropriate words on the branch of a tree.

Assignment L will list as many as they can the proper ways of taking
care of the five sense organs in a piece of paper.
