The Right Time to Start a Family

Family might come as a very common word but this topic is actually very
broad. Most people at their prime age are looking into the idea of building their
own family. Children running around the household and a loving partner can be the
ideal life for many. The stereotypes of having a family are it being consist of
members full of love and that everything came out of love. All of this may be true
but what are the factors that you have to consider or what does it really take to
have a family?
The first thing to consider is its financial impact. Do you have a steady
source of income that can support all the needs of a family? You may want to
reconsider your decision if you are not fully prepared in this aspect. Poverty is your
biggest enemy here. No one wants to have their children suffering because of the
intrusive thoughts of their parents have won. Both you and your partner should
have the ability to support your own family in terms of bread-and-butter.
Secondly is your partner. You have to pick a spouse that’s not only with you
in your happy days, thus pick someone who will stay with you in difficult times. A
partner that will let the both of you grow in a good way. One who’s willing to be
with you and get through conflicts together. A strong sense of communication is
important for two people in order to let their feelings out without being
misunderstood. When parental duties are already in the frame, both of you will
handle it well because you know in yourselves that you’re both ready for this type
of responsibility. Since the foundation of a family comes with the parents, it’s very
important that you and you’re chosen partner got each other’s back throughout this
journey.
Another one was mental and emotional preparedness. It takes a lot of
obligation and responsibility in able to guide your children properly in the future.
Other than responsibilities in your children, problems may and will arise between
you and your partner. There will be lots of ups and down. It’s not that when you
have a family, you’re already not allowed to be burned out, this factor is more on
how well will you handle it. Problems inside a family are not like some best friend
fights in your early adolescence in which you will pretend that someone doesn’t
exist just because both of you are not on good terms. It’s important that you can
handle your emotions very well before building a family.
Lastly is a lifestyle. Lifestyle talks about an individual’s way of living, and
how his/her everyday life goes. Responsibilities are also a substantial part of this.
When you got a family, it’s just natural that you have people on your back too.
People who are dependent on you, especially your kids. The lifestyle that you have
in your prime age won’t be as relaxing as it is, hence you’ll have triple or even
quadruple responsibilities by the time you build your own family. You’ll have to
wake up early, not 10 AM because you have kids that have to eat breakfast and
also for your partner too. If your kids are schooling already, then you have to get
them ready really early. Just keep in mind that life will be very different once you
have a family that depends on you.
In general, there will be many hardships and things to consider on this path
but it’s not always like that. Maybe that’s why family is very meticulous because
even though what kind of problems are on the way, at the of the day you still have
each other’s back. You create good memories with each other, you stay positive
with each other even though life is hard. Family will stay with you no matter what.
But before you decide to pursue this path, at least think about it a hundred times.
Prepare yourself for what is to come.
