Mamasita Mexican restaurant review

On 12 August, my family and I paid a visit to the only Mexican restaurant in

Melaka, Mamasita. We went there during a Friday lunchtime, hoping for a
change of taste contrasting to our usual, simple lunch after school and work.

Mamasita restaurant is located at Jalan Hang Lekiu. At first glance, the

restaurant has an amazing interior with authentic Mexican murals. The brightly
colored paintings featuring a bounty of flora and fauna made us felt as if we
had teleported to Mexico. We were immediately attended by a friendly and
welcoming waitress who recommended their specialties and took our orders.

We ordered a nacho bowl as starter, fajitas as our main, and a chicken

taco. Besides, we also ordered a virgin margarita and mojitos mocktail to pair
with our wonderful meal. The nacho consists of thin corn crisps, diced
tomatoes and onions, melted mozzarella and are sided with guacamole and
cream cheese. The fajitas, on the other hand, has five tortilla wraps and a bowl
of vegetables and beefs, chicken and seafood cooked in Mexican gravy. All the
dishes were made up of simple ingredients, but were portioned to perfection.
However, the chicken taco is slightly too acidic to my taste and the drinks were
not as good as the price suggest.

Overall, I think it is a special experience as the decorations and service are

tip top. However, many ingredients of the dishes are localised and it is quite
overpriced. However, I might not visit again as I think the foods can be made
cheaper at home. I would recommend this restaurant only to my friends who
had never eaten Mexican food.
