Scene 1: Cinderfella’s house

 Narrator 1 Once upon a time, there was a boy called Cinderfella. He lived with his four ugly
brothers, Basil, Benny, Bill and Bingo. The brothers were not very kind to
Cinderfella.

Basil Come here, Cinderfella.

Cinderfella 1 Yes, Basil, what do you want?

Benny Go upstairs and clean our bedroom.

Bill Don’t forget to brush the carpet with a toothbrush!

Bingo And lick our shoes clean.

Cinderfella 1 Do I have to?

Bill Yes, you do, Cinderfella, or you know what we’ll do to you.

Basil We’ll squash your nose!

Benny And pull your hair!

Bingo And pinch you till you scream!

Narrator 2 So Cinderfella went upstairs to clean Basil’s bedroom.

After three hours, Cinderfella came back downstairs.

Basil Did you brush my carpet?

Cinderfella 1 Yes, Basil.

Bill With a toothbrush?

Cinderfella 1 Yes, Bill.

Benny Let me see your tongue.

Narrator 3 Cinderfella stuck out his tongue.

Bingo Your tongue doesn’t look very dirty. Did you lick our shoes clean?

Cinderfella 1 Yes, I did.

Bill Well, go back and do it all again.

Cinderfella 1 Do I have to?

Basil Yes, you do, Cinderfella, or you know what we’ll do to you.

Bill We’ll squash your nose!

Benny And pull your hair!

Bingo And pinch you till you scream!

Narrator 4 So Cinderfella went upstairs to clean Basil’s bedroom.

Every day the ugly brothers made poor Cinderfella do all the horrible jobs.

Narrator 5 One day Basil and Bill were very excited. They got a letter from the King. Basil
and Bill had written a creepy letter to the King telling him what a good King he
was.

The King had invited them to watch the royal football match with the Princess.
The Princess was football-mad.

Basil Cinderfella, lick our best shoes till they shine.

Bill We will be sitting with the Princess and we must look our best.

Narrator 6b When Cinderfella had finished licking the shoes clean he was worn out and his
tongue was very dirty.

Cinderfella 1 I wish I was going to the football match.

Narrator 7 Just then there was a puff of smoke. A man in a dark suit, wearing dark glasses
and holding a magic banana appeared.

Cinderfella 1 Who are you?

Fairy I am your Fairy Godfather. You can have two wishes and I will make them come
Godfather true.

Cinderfella 1 I wish I could play in the royal football team.

Narrator 8 The Fairy Godfather waved his magic banana. There was a puff of smoke and
Cinderfella found he was holding a ticket. It said: Royal Football Match: ‘Player’s
Ticket.’

Cinderfella 1 Oh, thank you, Fairy Godfather. But I wish I had some new kit and boots to wear.

Narrator 9 The Fairy Godfather waved his magic banana again and Cinderfella found he
was wearing a new football kit and boots.

Fairy Now you can go to the ball!

Godfather

Cinderfella 1 What are you talking about? I want to go to the football match.

Fairy Sorry, wrong story! Oh! I nearly forgot. When the whistle blows for half-time,
Godfather you must come home as all your magic kit will vanish.

Scene 2: Football Court

Narrator 10 The next day Basil, Benny, Bingo and Bill set off for the football match.

Basil, Benny Ha! Ha! Ha! We’re going to the match

and Bill

Bingo
And you’re not.

Narrator 11 When his brothers had gone, Cinderfella changed into his kit. Then he set off for
the match. At 3pm all the players went out onto the field.

Cinderfella 2 I can see my brothers sitting with the Princess. I wonder what they’re talking
about.

Basil Who is the new player in the team?

Bill I don’t know.

Benny The Princess can’t take her eyes off him.

Bingo And we wanted her to look at us.

Princess Be quiet, you two. The match is about to begin.

Narrator 12 The game began. Cinderfella was a brilliant player.

King LET THE GAMES! BEGIN!

 Princess Come on, come on. Pass it to the new player. Yes, yes, go forward. Now is your
chance – SHOOT! YES! It’s a goal!

Narrator 13 And the Princess jumped up and down with excitement.

Princess After the game is over I’m going to ask that new player for his autograph.

Narrator 14 Cinderfella scored two more goals. Then the whistle went for half-time.
Cinderfella remembered what the Fairy Godfather had told him. He ran from the
pitch. He was in such a hurry that one of his football boots came off.

Princess Where is that new player going?

I want to talk to him.

Narrator 15 But by the time the Princess got down onto the pitch, Cinderfella had gone. The
Princess picked up the football boot.

Princess I shall search his land to find the one who fits this football boot. And when I find
him, I will marry him.

If it will make my princess happy, it shall be so! Help my daughter find her future
King
King!

Scene 3: Cinderfella’s house

Narrator 16 The next day the Princess arrived at Cinderfella’s house. She was carrying a
muddy football boot on a golden cushion.

Princess Who would like to try on this boot?

Whoever fits this boot is the one I will marry.

Narrator 17 Basil tried to squeeze his foot into the boot. He pushed and pushed, but his foot
was too big.

Bill, Benny, We want to try!

Bingo

Narrator 18 The brothers tried the boot. They pushed and pushed, but their feet were too
big.

Princess Is there anyone else who would like to try on this boot?

Narrator 18 Just then Cinderfella came into the room. He saw the Princess. She smiled at
him. Then he saw the muddy football boot.

Cinderfella 3 What’s going on?

Narrator 19 So Cinderfella tried on the football boot. It fitted perfectly.

team.

Narrator 20 Just then there was a puff of smoke and the Fairy Godfather appeared.

Cinderfella 3 What are you doing here? I’ve had my two wishes.

 Fairy But I got it wrong. You can have three wishes. You’ve got one wish left. What are
Godfather you going to wish for?

Princess What about something for your brothers?

Cinderfella 3 Yes, that’s a good idea. I wish that Basil, Benny, Bingo and Bill were my servants.

Bill Oh, no! I don’t like the sound of this.

Fairy Basil, Benny, Bingo and Bill, you must go to the palace with Cinderfella, so go
Godfather and pack your toothbrushes and cleaning stuff – you are going to need them.

Backdrop is changed: A Palace

Narrator 21 Cinderfella and the Princess trained hard to get into the royal football team and
Basil, Benny, Bingo and Bill worked hard for Cinderfella. Sometimes Cinderfella
felt sorry for his brothers and because he was so nice - he let them clean his
shoes with a brush!
