DISCUSSION
Using the soil web survey, the PhilRice Soils Information System, I
saw the different types of soil series. At this time, I recognize the different
soil series of our municipality, which are Annam, Maligaya, Quingua, and
San Fabian.
The most used unit of soil classification is called the soil series.
Series are determined by studying the horizon characteristics. Such
characteristics as number of horizons, color, thickness, texture, erosion
phase, slope, organic content, and depth to hardpan are used to
differentiate among series.
CONCLUSION
All soils have different types of layers, there are different types of
soil, each with its own set of characteristics. Dig down deep into any soil,
and you’ll see that it is made of layers, or horizons. Put the horizons
together, and they form a soil profile. Like a biography, each profile tells a
story about the life of a soil. Most soils have three major horizons and
some have an organic horizon. The horizons are humus or organic,
topsoil, eluviated, subsoil, parent material, and bedrock.
