1.    Introduction

The internet is becoming a huge umbrella, and it has covered almost every
comfort for the customers as well as business.

So, do you own a salon? Are you facing any issue to communicate or
maintain a seamless customer relationship after COVID effects? One more
question, were you able to generate enough revenue from your salon during
the pandemic?

In fact, these days it is quite tough to achieve the goals just with a physical
salon. You need something unique which can catch the attention of your users
and ultimately increase the ROI of your business. Though, thanks to the salon
mobile apps which builds a customer – salon relationship for the business
units. The salon booking app aims to build a gap between service seekers
and service providers.

Why Do You Need a Salon App?

Users these days are more comfortable with online services for almost
everything, whether it is about errand services or on-demand beauty services.
Be it a simple small salon or huge franchise, having an online presence will
definitely showcase the difference in customer engagement and revenue.

The biggest example you can consider for the need of a salon app is the
COVID pandemic. We all are aware of the 2020 pandemic situation wherein
almost every business needs to shut their doors amid lockdowns and fear of
getting infected. To make it more clear, have a look at the below-given stats
which shows the public comfort level of visiting a salon after the pandemic.
So, now you might be clear on why you need an app for the saln. Besides
that, you can reach a new audience with the help of an online platform. During
this pandemic time, people got more comfortable with the online services,
therefore by digitizing your salon, you can achieve your estimated goal easily.

Consequently, if you’re planning to build a salon app, then this write up is for
you. To start with an on-demand salon application, you have to take care of
various points. The article contains everything starting from the importance of
the app to its development, cost, and business model.

 2.    Aim and Objective of Proposal

 To ease of doing business

 To provide a solution to barber services problems. It will provide a platform
to the service providers and also helps the customers to get their required
service.
 To provide the job platform for the skilled people.
 To provide ease for customers to find and search for the services provider.
3.    Background of the Project Proposal

This project has not been implemented in Pakistan so we have a huge market to
cover, for example UET Peshawar’s hostel strength is almost four thousand and
everyone has to get their hair done. We can say that this is just the case of the boys
we have girls too who doesn’t just wants to get their hairs done but so many others
things to do as well such as facial, manicure, pedicure, hair spa, and all beauty
services.

At most barbers and beauty salon workers stay free with less customers and at
other times customers take a lot of time in queues waiting to be attended. This
problem can be solved by developing a service application which can help the
customers find barber shops close to them and make orders to make sure that they
are attended to once they reach the barber shop or salon.

So our app will provide the medium for them to schedule hair cutting, washing and
blow drying, facial, manicure, pedicure, hair spa, and all beauty services on
demand through your mobile app.

Dialling in a phone number or navigating to a website doesn’t seem like

strenuous tasks when you set them out in black and white. And they really
aren’t. However, when you compare them to the process of booking through
an app, suddenly the old ways of booking seem like a lot of effort.
The proof is in the pudding: 75% of millennials now avoid phone calls since
they are seen as “time-consuming”. This is great news for your staff, who
don’t have to spend their valuable time answering the phone. And with an
app, your salon can take bookings 24/7, rather than your clients having to wait
until opening hours to phone up.
“So, what about my website?”, we hear you cry.
Studies have shown that mobile apps are simply more popular than websites,
which makes sense when you know that 90% of time on mobile is spent on
apps. They cater to better user experience since they load content faster and
are easier to browse.
Without the frustrations of slow loading times or waiting for someone to pick
up the phone, your clients will have a seamless customer experience, and in
turn, will be more likely to choose your salon in the future.
4.             Learning Outcomes

Some of the major learning outcomes of proposed project are:
 To learn and understand proposal and SRS writing
 To understand, design and manipulate databases
 To understand the architecture of building a cross platform app.
 To understand and learn databases connectivity
 To be able to describe, and code for the project.
 To be able to describe each and every part of the project in detail.

5.    Required Skills of the Team Members

 Problem Analysis
 Proposal Writing
 Product Designing
 Flutter development
 Database Design / Database Construction
 API’S Integrations
 Flutter
 Dart

6.       Methodology

First of all we will take the requirement by doing different surveys and then analyse the
Requirements and Start the thesis We will use the Plan Driven Methodology to develop this app
and make my FYP project done. Using the agile method, I will meet with my supervisor on a
weekly basis to get the desired feedback from them and develop the final product.

Holistically, the role of Agile in mobile apps is well-renowned and Scrum is the most commonly
used subdomain of the agile methodology, which has quickly expanded to handling big,
complicated projects that might have otherwise taken a lot of time to finish.
Mobile application development and keeping it updated in the current scenario is quite a
complex process. Even more complex is the task of getting it downloaded on the user’s devices,
and used frequently. It is because of a large number of apps available in the marketplace. While a
majority of users use the smartphone, it is quite easy to get noticed, but it becomes quite
challenging to get the user’s attention as in this gigantic sea of options available for them. Hence
it becomes quite necessary for the business owners to design the best app in a short span of time
and keep their apps updated as per the latest trends
How Does Agile Work?
Since the Agile app development methodology consists of a few short cycles (2–3 weeks each),
there is risk minimization. A customer can see the result after each cycle, and he/she can request
to make any changes. Thus, a customer has a direct influence on the development and he/she
controls it. Each Agile application development lifecycle includes the following stages:

 Requirement analysis

 Design

 Development

 Testing

 Deploy

 Review

7.    Deliverables/Scope
 Our project has real value in the market. We are targeting all the people who
intend to do this barber or any other beauty salon business across the
various cities of Pakistan. By this system we offer them the online platform
for both customers and clients so that they can schedule hair appointments
drying, facial, manicure, pedicure, hair spa, and all beauty services.on
demand through your mobile app.

 Booking through call on app

 Map locations to measure distance

 Search the services nearby locations

 Rating and reviews system

 Location and mapping

8.             Tools/Technology

We are going to use the following tool/technology for our project.

 Flutter
 Dart
 Google API
 Android Studio
 Adobe XD
 APIs
 Firebase Auth
 Firebase Database
 Firebase Storage

9.             Expertise of the Team Members

We are pre-equipped with the knowledge needed for this project. Knowledge about
Flutter which is necessary for the project. We have already studied the course
needed for this project like Data Structure and OPP.
