an action and event. Tenses show events such as at present, in the

verbs.

A tense is marked by its use, pattern, and time markers.

ROUTINES DISLIKES

well. Some of them are explained as follows :

1. The Present Simple describes routines, schedule, and facts. The time markers for this tense
are every day, once a week, always, usually, often, regularly, etc.
2. The Past Simple helps when we need to tell about events happened in the past.
Whilst time signals for this tense, among others, are yesterday, last month, a year ago, just now,
in 2018, and so forth.
3. We use The Present Progressive for a temporary routine or situation. We can also use this
tense for a fixed plan happening soon. The time markers for this tense are now, right now,
at the moment, at present.
4. The present Perfect tense is needed to talk about repeated actions, past events that have
present consequences, already finished or haven’t yet finished activities. Just like other
tenses, this tense can be used with the time markers like already, yet, since, for, twice,
recently, so far, lately, etc.
5. The Simple Future Tense is necessary when we talk about events thought to occur in the
future. This tense is highlighted by Time Markers like tomorrow, next week, tonight, etc.
